  1. Mike takes care of us here at BR. I'm confident there'll be at least one more sale before spring.
  2. d**n! I missed it. Going to be stocking up on dock rockers before spring. They are my new favorite.
  3. Mike nailed it: point your rod tip to the sky to get it started and lower the tip as it gets closer to the boat.
  4. I like the super hogs better. Many more fish on them.
  5. I think I'm going to give it one last try this saturday. It may not be smart, but I've got to pitch the last few docks left in the water, one last time. Its an addiction.
  6. I like most of it. The one change I'd prefer is to move the dual consoles in just a hair further than normal to have a good 8 inches or so along the sides for rods to lay. Then, have the deck extend from front to back between the consoles so I could walk front to back on the same level. This would create cockpit-like seating at each console and the center could be two rod lockers, side by side. One for the guy in front and one for the guy in back.
  7. I just picked up a couple of the new lc lightning pointers. Seem to be pretty decent for $8.99. You can tell they arr a slightly cheaper version of the flash pointer, but they still have good finishes and action.
  8. Just got to try out a 90 size yesterday for the first time and even with a water temp of 46º, had a smallie explode on the thing and inhale it. I have a box full of topwaters that I love, but I have a strong feeling I will be tieing on a whopper plopper quite often from now on.
  9. Really? Everything I've read says an average depth of 15'-19' with a maximum of 80-something. Most of the finger lakes in new york that I fish on a regular basis are deeper than that, most eclipsing the 100' mark.
  10. Thanks for the reply. In looking at the map further, I'm thinking about trailering to the Vandalia launch and running up to Wolf Fork. Looks like good water and I can run there on pad.
  11. I'm heading south to attempt to prolong my fishing season another week for the first week of November. So, heading to WV from northern PA to try Stonewall Jackson. I'll be staying at the resort and taking my own boat. Looking at the lake map, it appears there's a whole lot of no wake zone to the south of the resort with open running to the north. Could someone give me a clue as to which would be my better choice? I'm liking the looks of the shallow water and standing timber to the south. I have a jet boat, so I'm not overly concerned with submerged timber hazards. I enjoy not worrying about prop damage.
  12. I just got an order of Dock Rockers and though this is my third or so order of siebert jigs, I still am amazed at the works of art that they are. You can definitely tell that there's a lot of pride put into these things.
  13. I learn all kinds of great stuff on this forum. I'm going to be ColdSVTs nonboater in a tournament on the 11th. I might have to pay his entry fee and punch him in the face!
  14. Rented a house on Honeoye for the family this weekend and I'm going fishing in a freaking tropical storm if I have to. Glad I just replaced/upsized my bilge pump.
  15. Get a piece of flat stock aluminum. Find a piece of pipe approximately the same diameter as the tm housing. Put the aluminum on the pipe and pound it to the contour. Bevel/sharpen one edge. Epoxy to trolling motor.
  16. I like my pointers, but they go to a whole other level when you swap on some short shank ewg hooks.

I've had this same thing happen. 40# Smackdown, palomar knot. Line snapped in the middle of the spool. I had to take the spool out of the reel to finally dig the tag end out as it was buried.
  18. I got a couple of packs to try this spring and I haven't been real impressed with them. They are heavy and don't seem to come through any kind of cover without picking up junk. I'm using the 6/0 Owner Beast hooks that Damiki recommends.
  19. I like fishing black moshannon, but I do it by boat. Fishing from shore would be a bit tough as its a pretty shallow lake, the pads are thick all the way out to 50 yards or so from shore, and there's limited openings from the bank.
  20. The seaguar smackdown is simply amazing. I have it in 65#, 40#, 30#, and 20#. Best braid I've used. Looking forward to trying it.
  21. Current effects everything you do. The river might be running pretty hard on Friday as we're supposed to get some rain Thursday. I live 15 miles from Linden and I just haven't spent anytime on the river since April. Its just not what it used to be.
  22. I'd go for something on Seneca or Keuka and then travel each day to a new lake to fish. Seneca is kind of centrally located between all of the finger lakes. One day Conesus, the next Honeoye, the next Kueka, the next Cayuga, etc, etc. I'd pick those two just for the scenery sitting on the deck, having a beer after a day of fishing elsewhere.
  23. Get a Bolt hitch pin. Keyed to your vehicle, so you'll never forget/lose the key.
