  1. wish i could chime in.....but i have absolutely zero confidence in spinners, so i never use them anymore...haha My tip for bank fishing, green pumpkin or salt/pepper 4-6 inch lizards texas rigged with 1/8th bullet......Works year round as long as theyre there.
  2. I always wait until i feel atleast 2 small taps, sometimes even 3 if theyre weak. More hookups, but also more "foul" hooks (aka swallowed) Was patrolling a rocky bank for about 2 hours for smallies and out of 9 sets, 7 were successful, with 2 gutters. Both lived, atleast for now.
  3. Ive had a lot of luck with salt and pepper / green pumpkin lizards in stained water.
  4. If they were just suspending there all chill id imagine they were just getting water flow through em. If moving, well, maybe they found the worlds largest plankton
  5. i lost my car/house keys for 2 days earlier this week...right when i stopped looking for them, i found em. Works every time
  6. I use the tiny black rubber bands for hair, double/triple them up. Hook lines up with the bait and you can just use mend it to fix it whenever it runs into trouble
  7. I chopped down a tree to get 3 of my lures back.....lol I dont carry machetes for nothing, thats for sure
  8. I cant fish in cold, wet, windy weather. Its a downer and it just ticks me off haha, i dunno how you managed with anything over 15 unless you were hitting open waters and no gnarly bush banks
  9. Ive had my phone disconnected for almost 3 months now, and it is seriously the best thing i ever did.
  10. Hollywood Undead Kid Rock Yelawolf Eminem Killswitch Engage Godsmack Three Days Grace Some country songs Really just a mix of everything
  11. For every time the "weather" report said something generic like 65 , cloudy, 0% chance of rain, and 3 mph winds all day, follwed by me going out onto the water.....Just to end up in 47 degree weather, overcast, rain, and 20 mph winds within the hour.......Id at least by 300 dollars richer, maybe 400... Anyone else?
  12. Ive used 1/0 or 2/0 for everything, dont know why, just do.
  13. Search "Tiger Trout Juvenile", youll be able to tell right away
  14. Just have a recording of the "Taken" speech ready to go next time he calls
  15. My uncle hooked something large enough to snap 18lb braid and a pole in half in under 2 seconds, he goes "Ah, was just a fry anyways" as im leaning over the edge of the boat about to jump in after it
  16. The large Berkeley tackle bag is awesome, comes with 3 large containers which you could easily swap out for 5-6 averages
  17. Reminds me of the mind wrecker that is transitioning between stocked ponds and lakes...
  18. Post a picture, Your bar/knot location is possibly the culprit. Also, retrieval speed can be a factor. Think like L Bill shallow crankbaits swimming near the surface and rolled over when retrieved too fast. A lot of times its really simple solutions to extremely annoying problems
  19. lol my braid had frayed, so instead of re spooling i just put an alberta knot, or whatever that thing is called in. 49 lb braid, with a 20 over and 20 back alberta knot...pulled as hard as i could hoping the hooks would bend out like normal (49 lb braid is the **** for getting baits unsnagged from anything as long as its palomar'd) Even Balsa wood lures hold up exceptionally well to the extreme amount of force needed to bend hooks. Hell, just a week before this incident a guy let me hop on his boat and tie my line down and he drove the snag out which was hilarious since the wind took it about 15 ft through the nastiest bushes ive ever seen. 49lb braid and palomar knots are just a beautiful combo.
  20. Something i just noticed on my trip today, Cranks with rattles have been producing a lot more than ones without, and this is with me stomping around on about a 50-60 yard dock system. Maybe its the extra distraction, who knows
  21. Mine is normally "SoB", just shouted and spelled out...My go to response for anything, including losing my favorite rapala in a tree and watching it dangle in my face out of reach
  22. I could say the same thing about taking life savings to Vegas.
  23. When the line goes slack on a bite i hold the rod pointing to the left or right, tighten it up a little, and then set the hook into a new dimension on an angle. I only ever side swipe with circle hooks
  24. From my personal experience, the longer the cast, the less you really want to set a hook. Mainly because the further its out, the more your setting it horizontally. Other guys, instead of letting the fish set the hook itself, will lift the rod up as high as they can and reel/set. The other trick i know is to wait until you get a hint of the bass turning away and then set the hell out of it. Horizontal or not, making a bass do a 180 with a hook in its mouth is bound to hook something
  25. Sitting down while fishing is almost like a video game...lol
