A thermos of coffee, a bagel or two and two big bottles of water that I fill haf full and stick int freezer the night before then top off with water before heading out. I can always tell when it's break time and I need to eat something. I start getting impatient and casting erratically. Time to take a break...have a bite....a bottle of water and a deep breath......along with a smoke!

I hope this isn't true. Not a big fan of spinning reels but I do love my President. I don't use that much and I do take care of it. I expect it to last a very long time

Been there...not fun

Frogging would be my strongest skill. I am VERY accurate with my casts and just have a feel for where the fish are and how to haul them out. Doesn't hurt that I LOVE it and really just do everything else until I can do some froggin. I'm getting better with spinnerbaits and have lipless cranks dialed in. I'm decent with my T-rig game. Where I need work is on my cranking,and finesse. Where I have NO skill is with jigs. I Have ZERO confidence in jigs. I know they catch fish and I have a whole box full of quality jigs but just no confidence n them. My Ned rig game is nonexistent, too.

Why not because two words....RED SHAD. If you can't catch bass on pretty much any soft plastic in red shad...in Missouri at least....you need to give up.

I don't understand this "argument". I'm a 49 year old man. With no disrespect meant to anyone, I couldn't possibly care less whether anyone else thinks I'm doing it right or wrong. I do it the way I do it and I catch plenty of fish. End of story

I agree. I won't mourn the Extreme long as I am buying "better" equipment these days but they were a good intro to a higher level equipment than I ever used before and I do like the ones I have. I will continue to use them until they are unusable anymore. I liked the "Power Hump" handle.

Got a couple of Extreme Rods. They are work horses and I like them. I beat the heck outta them and they come back for more. They will be missed

It depends on whether I confront. The lake I fish is out in the middle of nowhere. There are a group of somewhere around 20 "regulars" that fish this pretty little lake hard and even though it is a Missouri Conservation area, we all take out stewardship of this lake pretty seriously. It gets a lot of weekend bank pressure...people coming out from the towns around here to fish and picnic and such. A lot are young families and younger people in general. They are pretty teachable if you approach them in the right way. Just yelling at them doesn't do anything. I point out WHY it's bad for the lake and the wildlife to throw line in the water. Why it's bad to leave soda cans and six pack rings and bait containers around. Heck, I've even PAID littler kids (with parents permission, of course) to walk around and pick up trash. It's fun if you make a game out of it. Say ...a dollar for first 5 pieces and a quarter per for more. For the older crapbags I see making a mess, I note the license plate and report to MDC. We have a terrific Agent around here whose husband also happens to be one of the regulars on this particular lake...so we take pretty good care of it

No lipless love here? Wow. The only Lipless I don't really like are the KVD. My fave is the Xcalibur and then the Cotton Cordell...preferably in Royal Shad. As for a traditional crank, I found a BPS Balsa Boogie a couple of years ago in a bargain bin and have killed with it. The only bad thing is that I'm limited on where I can throw it because I don't want to lose it!

Tips? Yes...go ahead and put it in the drawer or wherever you put baits that "seemed like a good idea at the time". That's where mine is.

Another Megastike user. Does it attract? Not that I can see. It does give me longer to get a hookset. Good enough for me!

I'll let you guys try it out before I pull the trigger. I got some Lunker City Texposer hooks a couple of years thinking it would be a better mousetrap. Nope......HATED those hooks. They got hung on EVERYTHING. Gave them away

The trophy series are great. The cheapies are not too good. They are best in HEEAAVY slop. They land with a *plop* that gets the fishes attention. I let them land...give it a few seconds and twitch it. That's usually when they get hit. I use other brands but the exact frog above is the one I use 95% of the time. I can usually find them for under 6 bucks but that is NOT why I buy them. They just flat work and are very durable. You'll lose the eyes pretty quick but it makes no difference. I highly recommend and at the price you pay, if you don't like them..who cares? Don't waste your money on the Trophy Pro's with the rattles. I bought some and found NO difference in my blow up rate. Calling your shots........LOVE doing that.
