  1. Mepps Comet Mino.......still carry a couple of them in Gold and Silver. I found one of these years ago on a bank and caught my first bass on it. Hooked immediately....both the fish and me. Used to throw it almost exclusively, now not so much. Going out tomorrow and might tie one on for old time sakes. Great lure.
  2. The ones I grab the most are the ones sitting on top of the Senko's I want. (Not a fan)
  3. I use Bubblegum and white more than other colors. I also use JJ's which means I customize them but heck yes........you could call them Man Candy Pink for all I care. They catch fish
  4. I always throw out a plug for the good ol' H&H Spinner baits when there is a post about them. They are VEEERRRRY cheap and they flat catch fish. The best thing about them...especially when you are on a tight budget...is that you can throw them fearlessly without worrying about losing them. Buy 2 or 3 of every color and style and you are still less than 30 bucks down. Just remember to put the hooks on or your hookup rate will be..uh...less than stellar. I wouldn't know, of course......a friend told me. 3/8 Double Colorado blade can be found at Academy for $1.49 or even cheaper on Ebay. They are very old school and have been around forever...because they work. http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_81255_-1?gclid=CIWtg5nVx9QCFQQpaQodDJ8CEQ
  5. That's really cool
  6. I know mine confuses people sometimes. I am NOT a female nor am I a "girly man".....(not that there is anything wrong with that, I guess) . Jade and Rose are the middle names of my daughters. I started using it years ago and it's my handle on pretty much every forum of every kind that I am on.
  7. I have a buddy that was Pro Staffer for them. All of their spinners are well made and catch fish. Be aware..the V's take up a LOT of room in a tackle box/bag. They are not an easy bait to store unless your have some of the more specialty boxes
  8. I've had a few...Dredgers...warpigs....lost every single one of them and fairly quickly. Certainly not an indictment of the lures, they are well made and perform well.....I just can't keep them. *shrugs*
  9. I'm pretty sure the Wacky rig was invented by nearly every 5 year old that has ever gone fishing.
  10. I recently went to the Springfield Flagship store with some non fishing people. They loved it. I HATED it. They went on and on about how that must have been great for me and all. It wasn't. It is the cable television of fishing. 5 million things and not a thing I wanted or needed.
  11. I simply can't imagine why this is an argument. I couldn't care less how someone else uses their equipment nor do I care what your opinion is about how I use mine. Do what works for you and enjoy some fishing.
  12. Jaderose replied to Fishin Maniac's topic in Fishing Tackle
    How do you fish?
  13. I try not to be snarky but I "love" these types of questions. They might as well say..."How do you fish?"
  14. H&H is STILL my favorite Spinner. Throw them all the time
  15. Didn't even open the link. Did it look like this?
  16. I've used hi vis green and now black and it does not matter. You have a lot of stuff in the way to break up the line. Most of the time the heavy stuff I fish...the line isn't even touching the surface
  17. If you aren't fishing heavy slop..(like I do) you do not need a Heavy rod. M/H would be just fine. p.s........DITCH THE LEADER
  18. I'll tell you my secret to fishing Yum Dingers....Shhhhhh...don't tell anyone else..........I get them out..any color....look at them....put them back...pull out a Senko.......catch fish. EASY PEASY!!!
  19. Custom made "Mott Dogs" made by a small processor in the Ozarks and sold to a friend of mine that raises cattle. By far, the best hot dog I've ever had. Nothing commercially available even comes close. Impossible to get and I'm almost glad of that because I would be dead in a year if I could get more than a lb or so every summer.
  20. Ratltrap treble in finger past the barb with pi$$ed off 3 lb bass on other treble. Could get it out. To ER I went. A lot of these stories remind me why I don't mess with catfish.
  21. MAJOR Back surgery about 5 years ago. Made me able to live my life again but left me with nerve damage....(the nerves were already damaged beyond repair....surgery did not not cause it) that left me with balance issues. Do NOT do well in a high decked bass boat. Never fallen in (yet) but that kind precluded me from buying one. As I type this, I am putting a floor in a 16' extra wide jon boat that will be just the thing. Will I ever fly across a lake at 70 mph? Nope. But my little 25 hp Evinrude and 55 lb Maxxum will do just fine. Helluva lot less money, too!
  22. I'll give my advice....whatever you decide to give your kids to fish is up to you....but.....1)Do NOT plan to fish yourself. TRUST ME!!!! It will only frustrate and irritate you. It is about them when they are with you. 2.) Do NOT get discouraged if they want to leave after 20 minutes. Kids do not have the patience to sit for hours not catching fish if the bite isn't on. Even if it it is, they get bored after an hour. Welcome to fishing. Have fun with your kids but explore this great sport on your own, too.
