  1. Yeah...maybe not. My wife would rather do almost anything than go fishing with me.
  2. I'm guessing this is mostly a matter of age. My wife would rather take a beating than go fishing with me and she has plenty to do to keep her busy.
  3. Sammich making can be an excellent hobby
  4. But no lures. Maybe the brand still exists but they sold off the lures to Pradco?
  5. I don't really know what is going on with all the KastKing threads or why there are so many of them but I DO know that seeing this name all over the place makes me want to NEVER buy one irregardless of how "great" they are. Give it a friggin rest already. It's a 50 dollar reel. If you buy it and get 1.5 to 2 years of decent service out of it, you got your money's worth. End of story. rant over.....get off my lawn and btw.....I seriously doubt if someone that fishes 20+ tournaments a year is wondering about a 50 dollar reel
  6. I got the Mega 8 40 lb and I'm not sold on it yet. Looks good but is so coated that I'm not convinced my leader knots are great. Weather has been garbage here so other than one real long day, I haven't spent a ton of time with it yet. Will give it a couple of outings to properly test. I think for my froggin rod it will be fine.
  7. As far as I need to, I guess?
  8. I would said the old BPS Extreme,,,but they gone.
  9. Froggin. 2 types of fishing for me. Froggin and everything else.
  10. This........good lord. I couldn't possibly care any less if my ratltrap doesn't weigh exactly 1/2 oz.
  11. God I love Missouri! Lol........12 bucks a year and that gives you a subscription to a terrific magazine and access to hundreds, if not thousands of Conservation lakes from 1 acre to Table Rock and Truman.
  12. Hit Paho last Tuesday. Sunup water temp was 60. By the time we left, (sundown) the water had risen by as much as 10! degrees in some places. The bass were moving into the shallows all day. Definitely pre-spawn. It's cooled off a bit and I haven't been back out. I imagine this cold front has made the bite pretty tough.
  13. Lost a trap last week that I was fond of. I can buy another but I liked THAT one
  14. Never tried a red shad senko. Now a Culprit fat maxx? That's a different story. Got one tied on through most of the summer.
  15. I bought my first BC in the WINTER....when I wasn't fishing. And backlashed the hell out of it until about March when ...guess what? It was time to fish. I would never, ever, ever, advise someone to spool up a BC and take it out to a lake to fish with. Get some plugs of different sizes and practice in the yard.
  16. Found a mess of Xcaliburs, huh! Good on you.
  17. Meh.....I've reached the "maintain" phase. I buy to replace mostly now. I've probably got 10 times less than some guys got and 10 times more than I need. Doesn't mean I don't get suckered in sometimes but it happens rarely now.
  18. I like Pad Crashers. I love Scumfrog Trophy Series. Especially the Natural Black and Green Color but any of them are great. The eyes will come off. Doesn't affect them at all. Also happen to be a bit cheaper than Booyah. I can afford more but why?
  19. My answer is very simple. I wish you good luck with your job situation and please do what you gotta do to keep fishing. You will need that time more than ever for stress reduction. Can you put a Zillion on a Lighting Rod? Yes. It will catch you some fish and help keep you sane.
  20. Got 3 PQ's. One I paid 99 for...one I paid 79 for and one I paid 49 for. All 3 were great deals
  21. I didn't actually catch that he was yak fisherman. If THAT is the case, I would consider the Falcon Jason Christie Frog Rod. 6'11" I can't imagine you'll be disappointed. The only rod I have that I can FEEL load up during the cast and then goes off like a shotgun blast. I can't wait to throw it into the muck. (When we actually get some!)
  22. In other words...there are a LOT of very good choices out there. It comes down to personal preference. I would STRONGLY suggest you hold as many of these rods as you can before you buy. The one time I've purchased a rod without feeling it first, I wound up with a St. Croix Mojo Bass Glass cranking rod that I find to be exceptionally "meh". I don't hate it..but I don't love it either and if I leave a rod at home, that is the one. I KNEW I love the Tat before I bought it...and boy do I ever love it. Feels like an extension of my hand. But that doesn't mean YOU will love it.
  23. Agreed but you don't have to give them a banquet!
  24. The only 2 cranks I throw from shore are lipless and square bills. Anything else is just asking to snag. Just my opinion
