  1. Sounds exciting. You sure your sonar wasn't on simulator mode?
  2. I normally use braid, but I am trying to expand to mono, fluoro and copolymer. I'm just used to the no memory aspect of braid. I would say sure, try it and see how you like it. If not, you can go back to mono.
  3. Small shaky head rigged craw works every time for me.
  4. No, I actually prefer silver plated jigging spoons.
  5. I use mostly craws, but if I am fishing it slower I will use a grub.
  6. The 10lb Sniper handles very nicely, I was expecting more memory, bit it is actually very manageable line.
  7. I just went out and bought a Chronarch 51e. Mounting it on my 6'8" LTB, super pumped to use it. I have 10lb Sniper on there right now, but I might change it out. Anyhow, really small profile and very comfortable to palm, and nice and smooth. Hope I get an opportunity to use it soon!
  8. I just paid 21$ for 100 yards of 5 lb power pro. ;(
  9. I treat all my combos the same, I am careful, but I use them, because that's what they are meant to do.
  10. Wakebaits and jitterbugs!
  11. very good c rig bait.
  12. Wow, I think you scored big, apparently it is very rare. I read that someone sold a mint condition one for 800. Without the specs, it probably wouldnt be worth close to that much, but you could probably get a good amount for it, that is if you decide to sell it, looks pretty fun to fish with.
  13. I will fish for anything and everything that will bite an artificial. I mainly target steelhead when they are in the rivers, and this came about when I went with my dad, and we found an area no more than a foot deep with about 30 big steelhead in it, the biggest probably 25 lbs. we hooked many that day, but didn't land one. They would wrap us up in the trees and stumps, pull the hook, or break the line. That was when I realized how strong they actually were and how cool of a fish they were to pursue.
  14. Going camping with my buddies, gonna go out in a pontoon and see it, should be fun! Might also do some smallie fishing.
  15. Great fish, looks like you had a blast!
  16. Depends on your price range. I use a 6'8" fenwick ET river runner,p and a 6'6" g loomis trout jig series, both light power rods, and I don't have any problems.
  17. I have a 6'6" medium, and I kinda wish it was longer. I would go with a 7' medium, no need for a medium heavy unless you will be fishing in heavier weeds or wood cover. Either way, the Avid is a great rod.
  18. Good fish!
  19. Go flip trees or something. No point arguing about docks, put it all in perspective, it's a very small issue.
  20. I just think it is more satisfying to catch a fish on an artificial because you have actually outsmarted the fish as opposed to using live bait. The way I see it is when using an artificial, you have caught the fish, using live bait, the bait has caught the fish. Nothing against people using it, I'm sure it works great but I have never actually used it. Less rewarding and a pain in the butt to care for.
  21. No problem. You will love fly fishing, casting the weight of the line is about as awesome as it gets.
  22. I would love to go to lake St Clair in Michigan to fish for smallies and muskies.
