You won't be able to spool up as much 30 lb braid on as you can 15 lb.

That's unfortunate that you got a lemon. The one Diesel I had was the older model glass rod with EVA grips. No problems with that rod. I have a Max and an Endurance and they are both great rods. I'm sure the new Max 3D rod is good as well.

If I'm fishing a jig like a worm making long casts, which is 99.99% of the time, I'll use fluoro now. I used to use braid but I didn't like it too well.

I feel the exact same way. Fishing for me as a hobby has always been on an off as a teenager, until this past year. Now that I'm on here I can't stop thinking about fishing, lol. Thanks for all of the knowledge!

I only say this because I used to be a braid only user, and the transition felt very odd at first.

I used the ones that Siebert Outdoors has without the inserts and never had any problems.

I read your article and did exactly this today. Using the same rod, but a different jig this time. I was using a 3/8 oz arky from Siebert Outdoors, which has a substantially thicker wire hook than the jig I was using before. I had gotten 6 bites, and landed all 6. Thanks for the help guys.

You'll have to adjust your hooksets. The stuff is like rubber bands.

I just keep them in their original package. I think in that video you watched he uses a 3601 box.
