I've found that shorter rods around 6'6" are easier to skip baits with. A 1/4 oz arky jig and a flat sided chunk like a rage chunk will do the trick. I've done it with 3/8 ones before, and if the bait hits the water too soon and stops, you will get a nasty backlash.

None of you even answered his original question.. from TW it doesn't look like they make a 6" all black senko.. but one with red flake in it.

Sorry, I thought that you were buying just the reel with the $350 budget. If you do get a Curado, you can get a 150-200 dollar rod and still have room to buy some tackle. I've been fishing with mine for a couple months now and it still is going strong. There are many good rods in that range I described.

I fish a 10 acre public pond and it receives a ton of fishing pressure. Out of the 140ish fish I've caught so far this year, only one of them has reached 3 & 1/2 pounds. There's a limit of the size people can keep (14 in and over) so that just leaves all the dinks. I do believe that there is a big fish in there, though.

I'd get a Curado or two. The low bearing count is not a problem with the reel. If you only want one then get a JDM Metanium. That's what I would get.

I am ONLY able to fish jigs on soft bottom (dead leaves, weeds, etc). I use 1/4 oz and 3/8 oz. Even 3/8 oz tends to dig up the muck sometimes.

I'll do it to sometimes if the fish are more aggressive.

I have been searching online for what people have been throwing on this rod, and it seems like it is a great for spinnerbaits. How does this rod fare with small jigs and Texas rigs?

Rod length is a matter of preference. I like shorter rods from the bank because there's trees all around me and I don't want to hit any of them.

I use a leader to absorb shock, and to break off without losing too much line.

Lol. But to answer your question I would fish what you have confidence in.

There are snakes that chill out where I fish too. They usually are more scared of you than you are them

Curado I. I have one and it's one of the best reels in that price range.
