  1. Many factors can be contributed to fish kill. Here in the northern States we see it a lot during the spring. The O2 levels drop and the fish can not take the change in the drop. Toxins can also contribute to fish kill. Run off, yard waste, fertilizer, and so on can add deadly levels that fish are unable to handle. I wouldn't be too alarmed and would chalk it up to an abnormality. So check though with your local DNR site. They should list of that lake contains higher levels that could be harmful.
  2. I think you mentioned this in a previous post, and I looked into this. Is there a way to zero out the scale after adding a fish grip to it?
  3. I was into C rigging worms last year so much, but this year I'm going lizards. I bought a bunch of V&M's and Berkley and can't wait.
  4. I can say proudly the bait monkey has taken a back seat. I put in a small order for parts for my boat, shoes, and a small chatter bait and fluke order from TW. With opener a week away I should only be placing replacement orders here and there
  5. So my battery had finally given out on me. I'm looking for a new battery that is a do all. It has to start my 9.9. I also use it to run my 30lb trolling motor and fish finder. I think it says my engine need 320 - 450ish CCA. Can anyone suggest a good brand battery that they have used and trust?
  6. Soft plastic swims and hard body swims this is how I define them.
  7. You don't have to buy Megabass, there are plenty of other company's out there that have a cheaper line up of cranks, and some might say that these cheaper cranks are just as (if not more) affective.
  8. That's the best thing. When I was looking into swim baits someone told that. You can drop 30, 40 and much more on a swim, but if you don't use it right. Or it's not your thing, it's a waste.
  9. X2 The old original Z's imo where junk. The shirts slipped, and you could never keep on a trailer. Now the new projects are good quality. And I am liking the D&M's. There another great dual cam weed guard one out there, but the name gets blocked .... So yeah.
  10. Yeah, you have to slip them in between the skirt and head to properly hold them. When I first got it, I didn't really know. I thought it was complete junk. However after about 4 months of storage, all baits are fine and bounce back. That and you can take this one and shake it, and they should stay in place.
  11. ^ Decent plano hanging JUNK! Plano Best option
  12. I have gone through a coupe options. I got the Flamb. Hanging box, and it works, but trying to take them out or storing Buzz makes or a pain. I went to 3700 Plano lay down, and that is junk! It hooks two less than it's advertised and they move around way to easily. Not to mention trying to take out or put back one in the mid. The 3700 Plano elite I have now. And while it has its downs it by far is the best in my opinion. The latches and hinges are sound. Yeah you have to bend the arm to secure them, but add long as they aren't cheap or short arms it's just fine. It holds tons of spinners, and Buzz. If you don't mind toteing around a box go with the flam hanging. But if you want a box go Plano elite. They make both 3600 & 3700 style.
  13. Not rationalizing anything. I had the money this week, and with opener coming up I wanted a new set of shoes for the boat. I get sick of getting wet feet and wanted to try something new.
  14. It can be said and compared to rods. You don't need a frog, jig rod and so on, but we still do it. Why, because we can. If you have the money and you take our seriously why not. I wouldn't suggest anyone starting out fishing go buy a Skeeter, and top of the line gear, but as you get into it why not. Pay your bills first, have family time, than make room for fishing or other passions.
  15. Grubs: Bruiser Bait Evil Twin Craw: Big Big Bait.. not 100% on name but in 4' Lizards: new this year, just picked up V&M 6's But I stand behind Zoom, SK, and Berkley two. To be honest almost every company out there has a great products, and while some might just have a little something unknown that others can copy but can't quite replicate they all will do just fine.
  16. They aren't just fishing shoes, but that's how they are marketed. I do plan on wearing during fishing. And after a couple of sessions of burnt tops of my feet I am willing to try something new. Call it an impulse.. well mistake, but still impulse. I don't regret it.
  17. BAM $60 Sekos.
  18. So in a true mistake, and not a "mistake".... I was flipping between my screens and I thought I was on the right screen when I hit enter..... I was not.... So now I have a pair of Zeko shoes coming. And then I was on a roll of ordering, so I clicked yes to my new rod holder for my boat, and a new marine light. At that point there was not return and I put in a TW order.... Bait monkey knows NO limits. The bait monkey is not limited to just tackle.
  19. Well looks like I have a pair coming.. I was jumping between scrrens and hit enter on the wrong screen.... Now I have a pair coming... Whoops.
  20. Some say order up a size, some others say good for in and out of the water but won't last long. I find a pair on fishgound, and with a coupon and my credit I am getting them shipped for $60.
  21. I have some baits that I will throw and throw and say okay only 1 more throw, and still use it even though I am coming up empty handed. There are others that I might only throw 3, 4 times and I am done with it for the day/week.
  22. So I am thinking about picking up a pair of Zekos. I am looking for something that is forgiving for when I step into the water to launch/trailer my boat. but I can also wear for a little sun protection and not have my feet roasting. I would like some insight to those who have worn them. Mainly, if I wear a 10.5 I was told to get at least a size 11 incase they shrink, is this also true?
  23. So with the opener just days around the corner, I am looking forward to hitting the water. And like a little kid in a toy store I'm ready to tear it up. But how quickly do you change what your throwing? I know if the bite isn't hitting the spinner I might go to a crank, but when do you make that decision? And do you just change weight and colors, or go all out and go new technique?
