  1. Drinking and driving/operating is all the same. Trying to justify it by make excuses is just wrong, and makes you an irresponsible.
  2. I just bought a piranh, and piranha II from TW , and they look stout. I mean if you want you could upgrade the split ring, but I don't see the need to.
  3. I have a couple more in mind that I would like to try, but I guess money is the key factor, and I have been spending way too much
  4. I was thinking the same thing.. I might order one next week to try out.
  5. So much so I bought some.. I haven't received them yet, but I'm already happy.. lol
  6. You don't have to buy it. Stay with cheaper lures. It's like saying I'm going to buy a car. You don't have to buy a Porch, a Geo Metro will do. But some want that name and are welling to pay X% more for something that does that exact same thing.
  7. Bigger lures do not always mean bigger fish. You can catch a lunker off a 6" wacky rig if you wanted to. Now a bigger lure is going to keep away some smaller fish, but doesn't guarantee monsters. I know here in Minnesota our biggest is under 9lbs, but an average is 3-4lbs. If you catch a 5 you have had a great day. 6+ lbs makes for a great season. My PB where 2 6's the past season, and that was caught of just a small 1/2oz spinner and a 2 1/2" lazy Ike.
  8. Sounds familiar. My brother in law has a set of $20 spider wire glasses and tells me all the time to look at something. And I can't see it. $400 prescription sunglasses, horrible for fishing, great for driving.
  9. I just bought some D&M's and I am happy over the quality. I was not happy over the original Z-Mans and since refused to buy them. I will try the new line and give them a second chance.
  10. I don't know the brand, but I have a set of tinted and polarized prescriptions. They work great at cutting glare, but don't do a darn thing to help see through the water (that isn't right under your nose) I think doing both was an over kill. But myself have been looking into just using glasses with a polarized clip on that's in Amber.
  11. Bibs, rain suits? I throw on a water resistant wind breaker, poncho, and hope that I didn't forget to pack my sandals or a fresh set of socks and dry shoes. Two openers ago it was 34° with a heavy wind. So cold that ice was forming on the rod guides. I guess I could see the want in it in that case. But being young and dumb make for great life lessons down the road.
  12. Well it all came in. I picked up as much jerk baits as I could for the price range I set for myself. That darn 110 was a pocket book killer, but glad I got it.
  13. My TW jerk bait order is here! Now to make it through the rest of my shift... I will have to post pics when I get home and unbox it.
  14. Broke collage kid I am not, and last hall of a high school I saw was with my son at an orientation. But I think fishing junkie about sums it up. Now I'm not a person top have 50 of one lure, and one in each color. I do however like to try new baits, and as time has gone on the price range has varied. It wasn't to long ago I though a $15 crank was way too much. Now I have no problem paying $30 for something I don't have. I guess I am just lucky to have a great paying job, an understanding wife, and I think one of the best hobbies/passions out there (Fishing!).
  15. Go to JPAngler.com I think, and they have them for around 15 - 17. But even at $22 - $25 for a Megabass I don't think it is too much.
  16. I think it's a prestige thing. It's like buying a car. Sure most of us have one, but now he has one with awesome rims. Needed? No, but sure looks good, and a proud badge of honor to hold. We all have those little badges of honor. The Megabass Vision 110 club badge, the Deps club, a BBZ Rat club.
  17. This a classic problem. I find myself putting a couple things into my cart. To find myself saying "well another $X more and I get free shipping" This then leads to "well I have free shipping, but only $X more and I get a free shirt!"
  18. A list of what was needed. My god man, did you just have rods, and an empty tackle box?
  19. Careful on setting a personal best. The bait monkey loves ribbons of achievement.
  20. no problem.. I didn't get anything myself. I bought at gander and got a new shadow rap deep. I have been saving up. We have the sportsmen show here this weekend, and I plan on buying.
  21. Your only going to lose (if that) on reel of line. If you have an empty spool un spool one reel. Than from there use the line from one reel to spool the one you just un spooled. Just tire a uni knot or what ever you prefer. Don't forget the backing our take this time.
  22. Braid is great and strong, but as the saying goes. "A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link" From my experience braid can start to fray or lose its strength if stands start to break. I have had lures break off, but I wasn't vigilant on the condition of the line. You don't have to re tie as much as floro, or mono, but you don't need to check your knot and line from time to time. Just my observation and opinions.
  23. I would use a combo of clothing glue, and heavy stitching. Those two should extend the life of the bag, but that looks to be at the top zipper? You could also bring it into a tailor. They have the heavier thread, and the ability. Just might not be their normal piece of work.
  24. So I stopped by my fleet farm and was finding some great deals. $5 husky, original floaters. Deals on already Clarence items. But a lot of other generally marked down items. That and Gander has clearance on Power Pro line. I got 30 lb 300yd for $22. I guess that price I should of looked for 80 or 65lb for my musky combo.
  25. I use a program called (i think) VCDM.... if I'm wrong I will correct, but it has functions to add movies, pictures, sound, transitions and other great options for free. Not to hard to pick up on either. I use it a lot and plan to put together movies from my Sony action cam this spring with it. I will pm my YouTube video that I used it on to give you an idea of what it can do.
