  1. I always thought the digestive juices(for lack of a better term) dissolved the hook in a few short days.I always cut the line and leave it in there.
  2. I never get to fish from the back of the boat very often.I'm usually in my own boat with my son. When we take my buudy's boat he makes me run the troller.
  3. I don't remember who made it anymore, but I have a rubber net and love it.I got it at wal-mart for about 20 bucks I think.
  4. Deep diving crankbaits(deeper than 10 feet).Got plenty of 'em but never use them.
  5. What are some of your most productive fluke colors? I would say mine are pearl, albino shad(basically white, lol),watermelon, watermelon red,and arkansas shiner. I have some baitfish and golden bream colored ones that I haven't got to try yet though.
  6. Looks like a golden shiner to me.
  7. Has anyone tried this line yet? I got a spool for my b-day.It doesn't look very clear to me.It looks white.Does it clear up after being in the water? It seems to cast ok.I haven't tried it anywhere but the backyard yet though. :-/
  8. When you feel 'em coming up get your rod tip low and do what you can to keep 'em from jumping. Most fly-fishermen say to put slack in the line,I dunno.
  9. At night I like to use black, mostly jitterbugs and buzzbaits
  10. pearl white for most everything natural colors for frogs
  11. I have to agree with Catt.If it's working don't change.
  12. Roostertails idea sounds good enough for me.But like the old saying goes "if it works don't fix it."
  13. Tell yourself to relax and slow down your presentation.Sometimes when I'm seeing people around me catching fish and I'm not it makes me rush. When I slow downa nd ignore them I usually manage to put one in the boat.
  14. I think the BPS style spring one RW mentioned is on sale now.
  15. I read your subject and thought you were gonna tell us you had a closet full of tackle. To which I would have replied that you didn't have enough yet. ;D

If you're just starting out it's probably best to use a 1/4 oz. weight.Unless you're fishing really deep. The only reason I say this is because when you're learning it's a lot easier to feel the bite with a little more weight on there(or so it seemed to me).Now that I've got a feel for it I like to throw everything from weightless on up to 3/8 oz depending on different factors.Sometimes with a light weight or weightless you'll just have to watch the line as you can't always feel it.It jsut kinda moves off(or towards you). When in doubt.....hooksets are free.
  17. BPS because I don't have to con the wife into letting me go because she likes it too. She'll get some shirts or little knick knacks and I'll get my fishing gear. I get my hunting stuff from cabelas mostly though.Hmmmm.Weird.
  18. Is there anyone who is a member of this site who is a contender for the Classic?Just curious.
  19. I fish a 3/0 or 4/0 on most of the plastic you mentioned. On the frogs I'll use a 5/0 usually the zoom horny toad hook or something similar. I fish a lot of things weightless, senkos, trick worms, etc. I'll normally use a 1/16 to 1/8 oz. weight on a ribbontail worm.Sometimes 1/4 or 3/8 depending on wind, current, water depth etc.
  20. I've accidentally skipped lures with a baitcaster. With a spinning reel I don't know if i would consider myself reasonably adept yet,but it is a lot easier than the baitcaster for me.The problem with skipping is you can only practice it on the water. And when I'm onthe water I can only focus on fishing, lol.
  21. Dang! I did forget a few fish didn't I?Sorry :-/
  22. I'd have to pick the mudfish with smallmouth being a close second.Pound for pound however would go to the smallie.
  23. How about some tips on how to fish and when with a zoom ultravibe speed worm, please? Thanks gang. :-/
  24. Didn't notice you were new sorry.Welcome aboard
