  1. O. I’ll ask him. Wouldn’t a shop have to do that? And this problem could cause the engine to throttle down?
  2. True. After looking at it I don’t think there is any other way to mount it without using a jackplate to raise it....
  3. Ground to Pad was 17”. Prop shaft to ground was 9-1/2” inches he said. Subtract 9-1/2” from 17” is 8-1/2”.....I think. lol. It’s mounted right to the boat. No jackplate.
  4. He just tried two different props. A 13x21 and 13x19 I think. 13x21 was about 6,200rpm and the 13x19 is the 5,500-5,600rpm. He had the motor serviced and diagnostic'd last year because he thought it was smoking too much and it was passed inspection fine.
  5. RPMs are about 5,500-5,600. It's a 19 foot glass bass boat.
  6. Friend has a 2014 Evinrude Etec 115 horse on his boat. At wot it goes about 38 mph according to the speedometer and fish locaters GPS. At wot of 38 mph after a few mins it usually throttles down on it’s own to about 36mph for no reason. If you throttle back and then throttle up to wot again it goes back up to 38mph. If you don’t it will just keep going at the slower speed. Whats going on here?
  7. Ah. I see what you’re saying. Correct. I’d think that since frogs don’t last though you’d need to make more homemade ones or buy new Teckels. If you had to make more homemade ones you’d buy a new Booyah and then the rest of the materials you’d already have in stock.
  8. I must have missed something. Im assuming since you already have a Teckel anything else costs money or am I wrong?
  9. Correct, not free.
  10. But you're not using the entire pack of CPS Springs, Teckel Tails, or 3 way swivels for each frog, so I divided the parts individually. So, 1 Teckel tail, 1 CPS Spring, 1 frog, 1 three way swivel......... Frog: $6.69 Tail: $1.99 Swivel: .49 cents CPS: .33 cents Total: $9.50 If my math is correct.
  11. I use medium Owner CPS Twistlock Centering Pin Springs to nose-hook Zoom Super Flukes and to make my Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog Tails. However, I found Hyamass Spring Pin Twistlock. The ones on Amazon are are comparable to medium sized Owner CPSs. Anyone use the Hyamass ones, are they just as good as the Owner ones? They are different as the Owners have a bend in the top and the Hyamass are a full circle.
  12. I've broken it down in the below thread. Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog: $9.80. ($6.69 if using Booyah Pad Crasher + $1.99 for Teckel Sprinker Frog Tail + 49 cents for the VMC 3 way Swivel #4 + 33 cents for CPS Centering Pin Spring). https://bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/205493-initial-thoughts-review-of-teckel-sprinker-frog-vs-booyah-toad-runner-vs-homemade-teckel-sprinker-frog/?tab=comments#comment-2320498 Also, I started using smaller #5 and #6 three way swivels because I lost 2 tails taking fish off. Haven't lost one since then.
  13. Ragetoads are my favorite solid body frog but they get tore up quick and you go thru a lot of them. They also get caught up a lot. Making your own homemade Teckel frog can catch a lot of fish and save you a lot of money and be just as if not more effective.
  14. I'd assume they get dropped into lakes by birds, crawl into lakes when it rains, etc.....
  15. A friend of mine was telling me how the pure white Senko works on a certain lake and always catches big fish. We happened to be on that lake and he caught a 3-1/2lber that day. He said it doesn't work on other lakes though and that he's tried. Weird.
  16. I’ve always like cinnamon brown colored Senkos. They've almost always caught fish for us here in central Minnesota. Cinnamon brown looks just like a worm which is something bass eat. What bass doesn’t love worms!!! Cinnamon brown is also easier to see underwater so when fish are shallow you can watch them take the bait and see the hook which is harder to do with darker colors. I have done unscientific studies where I fished a cinnamon brown Senko and my friend fished a black or green pumpkin one and the results were always the same with both of us catching fish, so I’m not sure how much color even really plays into it besides satisfying the angler. I have had the same type of results with 2 fisherman fishing exact opposite homemade Teckel Sprinker Frogs, one being white and one being black and both catching fish. Have some fisherman used cinnamon brown and had poor results wherein they then switched to a different color Senko started catching fish or fisherman who’ve just never had any luck with the cinnamon brown color? So why isn’t the Cinnamon Brown colored Senko more popular?
  17. Caught a ton of fish on these now. The original Booyah is starting to get tore up. It turns inside out almost on every fish. But that’s after 20+ bass and 1 northern which isn’t bad for a hollow body frog, they aren’t a hardbody permanent lure. Luckily Booyahs are one of the cheapest frogs at $6.95. Update: I have switched from #4 three way swivel to a smaller #5 and #6 because I did have 2 swivels fly off the lure when unhooking a fish. The smaller swivel has so far kept me from losing anymore tails. I’ve also fished a black bottomed one while my friend fished a white bottomed one at the same time and we both caught fish so I’m not sure how much color matters. Here’s the latest fish, 2.74lbs.
  18. After using both the Teckel and Toadrunner I would use neither. Both get a lot of blow ups but I have only hooked one fish with one even with waiting to set the hook. You can make a homemade one for cheaper than a Teckel and you don’t have to wait set the hook. Just set it. Caught a ton on these. Use a #5 or #6 three way swivel, medium Owner CPS Centering Spring, Teckel Sprinker Frog tail, and Booyah Pad Crasher.
  19. lol. I've never washed my fiberglass boat. 2nd year owning it. Need to start taking care of it.
  20. I’ve tried Trickworms and some of the others and they just don’t work as well as Senkos. To save on Senkos I do this.
  21. No video, but here’s how I do it. I use Booyah Pad Crashers and cut the legs down. I then take a Teckel Sprinker Frog tail and use an Owner CPS Spring and screw it onto one end of a 3 way swivel. Then I screw that CPS Spring into the tail. I then press the frogs legs together and put the two other ends of the 3 way swivel over the legs. Done. Literally takes about 1 minute to make. Here's a link to my review on the Teckel Sprinker Frog, Booyah Toadrunner, and Homemade Teckel Frog.
  22. No. They really do a great job in the weeds. Does catch a few small ones now and then. I use Booyah Pad Crashers for the Homemade frogs now. I also do not pull the hooks out away from the body at all, I leave them they way they came from the factory.
  23. What frog you using?
