  1. I think Spro was the easiest for me. I cut one side of legs shorter.
  2. Used to be my go too frog. Caught a lot by just letting the sink in the landing too.
  3. Yeap. Got the Hyamass springs from Amazon, $7.99 for 200 which is 4 cents each and then the Teckel Tails for $5.99 a pack. So that’s not too bad. I haven't had fish destroy a Booyah Pad Crasher yet just losing them by giving them to friends so this small investment should last quite some time. And these plain catch fish. I think of the Homemade Teckel frogs like Senkos. Eventually they get worn out or lost and you have to replace them.
  4. Ah. Well, you look like you had more fun than he did working.
  5. I kept casting to a huge (for me) bass in pads once using a Spro Popper Frog. 24 hits later after like 40 casts finally reeled her in. I think she was just over 4lbs. Released her to live another day. Was awesome finally catching that one.
  6. Nice bass! Where do you even find a shirt like that! lol.
  7. When I used to get a blowup and miss I usually throw a Senko after it. With the Homemade Teckel frog I've noticed if a bass misses it I just keep reeling slowly and usually they'll hit it a second or third time to finally get it. Gotten a lot of fish after they've missed this way.
  8. Own both Teckel Sprinker Frogs and Booyah Toadrunners, neither run well for some reason. The Booyah seemed to dive for the first 5 feet in waves and the Teckel didn't run much better. Both ran better on glass flat water, however, I run my frogs in all weather conditions. I've watched all of the videos and they run great for other folks. I have had hits on both Teckel and Booyah. Only landed a northern on the Teckel. If the Booyah Toadrunner ran well I'd just use that because it's only $9.99 but it doesn't work well for me. Now that I have plenty of knock-off Owner CPS Centering Springs and Teckel Sprinker Frog tails (bought from TW during sale), I'll just keep replacing Booyah Pad Crashers at $5.99 as I lose them to use and giving to friends.
  9. Caught a lot on a Ragetail Structure Bug using it like a frog.
  10. Buy a cheap Booyah and make a paddle tail frog.
  11. I’ve caught a few hollow body frog fish and missed a lot. Started making Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frogs (paddle tailed frogs) and not only did my hookup ratio go way up so did my bites. I think the hookup ratio went up because the frog is usually on the retrieve and the bass hook themselves, similar to fishing a crankbait. Caught a lot just letting them sit on the landing too. The results speak for themselves. If you are getting hit on topwater you’ll really get hit with these. Try it out. I always start with a Whopper Plopper and if it’s too weedy for that I’ll switch to paddle tail frogs. Open water, pads, mats, docks, structure, wherever, these plain just catch fish.
  12. Yep. All year this year and most of last year. Not regular frogs though. Paddle tail frogs.
  13. All day long. In open water and near docks and cover. But this is just a few Minnesota Lakes I have experience with. And with a homemade Teckel Frog. I don’t have much luck with regular hollow body frogs. Also color doesn’t seem to matter. My friend was using this black frog and I was using a white one. 6 topwater frog bass in 2 hours and 2 on Senkos. This is yesterday around noon.
  14. I like brown but I've noticed that that I'll fish a brown and my friend will fish a white and we both get bites. I think if fish are biting a particular bait most days color doesn't matter. I haven't had good luck with the Teckel or Booyah Toad Runner, but caught a ton on the homemade one made with the Booyah Pad Crashers. Also, far higher hookup ratio on the homemades.
  15. Looks good. I'd take that Booyah and turn it into a Teckel frog by adding a paddle tail. I think you'll like the results. Make sure to retrieve it along the edge of the mats too, a lot of frogs will rush out to hit it from underneath the pads.
  16. I tried Yums too. Just didn’t have the success like Senkos. But this makes me think I’ll give them another try.
  17. Wonder if they were successful.
  18. Yes, someone has to use it and tell us how it goes!
  19. You could also get a homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog and retrieve it slow. That has a high hookup ratio.
  20. What’s the benefit of the 75 over the 90?
  21. I think hooksets on paddletail frogs are justl ike crankbaits because you're in a retrieve when the fish hits and it hooks itself unlike a regular hollow body frog hit where it maybe stationary and you want to wait a second before setting the hook.
  22. What type of trailer do you use?
  23. Hope it works out for ya! I think the hook up ratio is better with the Homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog because the fish hit it on the retrieve and hook themselves vs. a regular hollow body frog which when walked the dog is fairly stationary and the fish hits it coming up from the bottom and sometimes blows the frog out of the water than swallowing it.
  24. I'll say I've had the opposite with the Terminators. Haven't snapped a titanium or steel one and have caught some decent northerns on them too. They are my favorite spinnerbaits. I will look into the Sieberts Comet though, good to know it's slices through the weeds.
