  1. Don't tell anyone but I already shot Bigfoot and have him mounted in my mancave.
  2. Dang you!!! lol. Wacky rigging like this, not too tight.
  3. Good one, never actually thought of turtles.
  4. Fishing last week I was casting wacky rigged Senkos under docks and in the course of 2 hours got 3 bite cleanly in 1/2. My first guess was a musky or northern but you'd think those normally swallow the Senko whole, even a small one. To have 2 musky or northern bite it in half and not swallow it whole is rare. Getting a lot of tugs from sunfish, small bass, and rockbass, but never heard of them cutting Senkos cleanly in 1/2. Could it be a bass or something else?
  5. For this I just like to take a regular wacky rigged Senko and put a small nail in one end.
  6. You are incorrect. Sorry. I set my drag properly for the technique I was using. It is a technique for bass which I was fishing. Not great for musky which I was not fishing for nor expecting. These article explains how to set your drag as I did. https://m.bassmaster.com/tips/dave-wolak-setting-drag https://coloradooutdoorsmag.com/2017/08/01/summertime-bass-fishing-with-frogs/amp/ This forum is about fisherman helping fisherman, not proving who is right or wrong. It’s also not a forum to go after people. In this case you are wrong. You don’t need to admit it or apologize.
  7. Snaps are great but have a chance of breaking. Something like a Mustad Fastach can also break but it is stronger so there should be less chance of that. Use what works best for you. Good luck!

Not under docks, but if you cast near docks and retrieve with things like topwater (Whopper Plopper, frog, buzzbait, spinnerbaits) you can do well also.

Wacky rigged senkos and nose-hooked Zoom Super Flukes under the docks is what I use.
  10. I do know how to set my drag, thank you. I had the drag cranked down because I was setting the hook on frogs in lilly pads. Wasn’t expecting a musky out of nowhere.
  11. Thanks!
  12. Disagree. Caught a musky alongside my boat. I didn’t realized it was hooked and neither did it. It was just sitting there floating alongside the boat with my Ragetail Toad in it’s mouth. Friend went to net it and did it incorrectly going from the tail. The musky about a 20lber took off straight away and tore my swivel open. It was this kind of snap swivel.
  13. I lost a large musky bc of a snap swivel blowing apart. The Mustad Fastach Snaps are very strong. A lot stronger than regular snaps. Not sure how strong the ones with swivels are. Most likely considerably weaker.
  14. Where can you get them for discount on first purchase like that?
  15. Did they recommend what type of grease to use and/or brand?
  16. What is the best value priced AGM battery? I am thinking about switching to them but want to sell my boat in about 5 years, so I don't want to spend too much money on batteries that will last 10 years when I plan on having the boat for 1/2 that time.
  17. Update: I charge my 2 TM batteries with an onboard Minn Kota charger and my starting battery with a Black & Decker charger. When I went to charge them this last time the one of the Minn Kota's banks was flashing green and the other was flashing yellow which means it's charging in absorption mode (whatever that means). Either way it never went to solid green meaning it is fully charged and in maintentance mode. So, I disconnected the Minn Kota charger and charged each with the Black & Decker charger. I then put the Minn Kota back on them when they were fully charged. I got out on the lake and the motor worked normally again. After a short time the same problem started happening with Spotlock and Autopilot not working and getting beeps/chirps when I attempted to use them. It'd seem to me that the batteries had drained enough again to not allow Spotlock and AP to work. So it does appear to be a battery issue and not an TM issue. I'll bring the batteries in and get them checked and replace them if necessary. I suspected it was the batteries and it apparently is the issue. I'm happy it's batteries and not the TM at least. The batteries are 4 years old.
  18. Which do you think is better, NOCO or Dual Pro?
  19. Nice. What's that for?
  20. I just started using it bc I had it on hand. lol. But it is a lot more durable than a rubber band and once piece seems to last years, so why change? It also doesn't need to be heated but you could try it. I think a rubberband would fall off fast and deteriorate fast too.
  21. Yes. I don't fish thick stuff with mine though. Mostly docks and light weeds.
