  1. Good to know. Perhaps his had a manufacturing defect. I bet if you pulled and rugged on most spinnerbait skirts they’d stay in place. I purchased a new Terminator from Gander Mountain, got home and opened it up. The skirt immediately fell off. I waited until my next trip to Gander and asked for a replacement of the exact same thing with my receipt from a week earlier. The manager argued that it just doesn’t happen. I was like, “You can tell it’s brand new and never been used. I’m returning it for an exchange of the exact same thing. Do you think I’m here wasting my time to scam Gander out of $5?” So, things do happen.
  2. I think he meant the rubber tail slid off of the metal shaft, not the entire tail breaking off at the split ring, but I could be wrong.
  3. I read and go by reviews. I've posted reviews on places like Amazon and Cabelas and I'm no kook (that I know of!). What benefit or advantage is there for someone to post a bad review on a $10 lure? Why take the time if it's not true? Sure there are some biased reviews but you just attempt to parse through them.
  4. Only a few online shops had these and they are mostly out of stock. Just ordered some from Tackle Warehouse but got an email saying that they are backordered. They also aren't shown on Kevin Van Damme's website either while other lures and fishing tackle are. If they are it's sad because these things are awesome. Did Mustad discontinue the KVD Fastach Clip and Fastach Clip w/ Ball Bearings?

We've tried it. It works ok....because of the way it's built it pulls up, would have been better the back was on the waterside. Caught a few bass with it. Really use the Whopper Plopper and homemade Teckel Sprinker frog for topwater now. If those don't work......well, then I'll try other stuff but that's rare.
  6. Why would I make up an issue that isn’t there? What kind of question is this? Why would you accuse someone of something like that? No, it’s because of this guy’s Tackle Warehouse review where he was disappointed in the new Booyah Frog because he lost his tail on a cast.
  7. But if that tail is poorly designed and just flies off on a simple cast, they won't be selling them for too long.
  8. T-Rig casts a lot better skipping under docks but I've always caught way more fish wacky rigging it.
  9. I know an actual Teckel Sprinker Frog Tail works well on a Spro Bronzeye. Might want to try that.
  10. Hahaha. Good job! Thanks for the update on this new lure. What do the two lower ones do?
  11. Homemade Teckel Sprinker frog or Booyah Toad Runner if that's found to be a good lure. Rage Bug T-Rigged weightless, works on top as a frog or dropped down.
  12. I just use cheap tubing from Menards and it has worked well. Have had 1 Senko last like 12 trips. No pliers needed.
  13. Never had great success with frogs, caught some but not consistently. Made a homemade Teckel Sprinker frog from a Spro Bronzeye 65 and started killing them. I am making another homemade one this year because I gave that one to a friend but I will try the Booyah Toad Runner since it is a knockoff of the Teckel. The homemade Teckel was far more consistent at catching fish than a regular frog ever was for me. The tail just does so much.
  14. Was watching a video on it and everytime the guy caught a fish the whole body was bent up on the hook, wondering if this will cause the fish to frog to be unusable sooner. Also, one guy commented that the tail flew straight off of the bait on a cast and the metal that holds the tail already looks straight, wonder if you could just use a Teckel replacement tail for it since they are basically the same thing but the Teckel uses a CPS Spring lock which will hold it on well.
  15. You'd have to have 2 poles/Talons to stop the boat from swinging. So, if you always fish shallow the poles maybe there better option but how are you getting to and from your spots, using your big motor all the time? That would suck. And if you get any deeper than the poles will go you are screwed. I'd say TM first, than poles. My next boat will have both but Talons instead of poles.
  16. Interesting to know that Minnesota boat insurance doesn't include spouse or children.....you might want to check your state's insurance laws and your boat insurance. From the article: But in Minnesota, like many other states, boat liability coverage can — and, it appears, nearly always does — exclude spouses and children. https://www.twincities.com/2018/03/29/does-your-boat-insurance-cover-your-family-you-might-be-surprised/
  17. Think the Vexus will come out with anything truly new or better?
  18. Ha. It had a bad battery and I couldn't afford to buy a new one. So rather than buy a new one I just jumped it a few times.
  19. You don't have to spend a lot. I have 3 of these, Anti-Gravity ones, but I bought them about 3 years ago when they were about $75 each. Now they are more expensive, around $110 but you can find other ones. Read the reviews on Amazon. I was able to jump start my 2011 F150 multiple times and my 2011 Ford Fusion like 15 times. I did recharge after ever use though. One time my TM batteries went out stranding us at the other end of the lake and I thought it needed a jump...it didn't, they were just dead. The little jumpstarter powered my TM and we used the TM to take my friend and I all the way back to the landing which was a 30 minute ride (my outboard wasn't working otherwise I would have used that). https://www.amazon.com/Antigravity-Batteries-XP-3-Portable-Flashlight/dp/B075YC2NYG/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1521783946&sr=1-2&keywords=antigravity+battery&refinements=p_72%3A1248861011 This one is about $90 and has good reviews. https://www.amazon.com/INTELLIBOOST-Portable-Charging-Emergency-Motorbikes/dp/B01AKQPBE8/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1521784066&sr=1-1&keywords=antigravity+battery&refinements=p_72%3A1248861011
  20. If I ever bought another charger it would be a Dual Pro. Had one for about 8 years and it was amazing. Charged batteries that were in poor condition for years. I have had a Minn Kota for a year now and no problems however. When I bought my Dual Pro I read a lot of reviews and the only charger with no bad reviews was the Dual Pro.
  21. Doesn't matter, was unhooking a hammer handle pike and it jumped and I got a huge pike lure treble buried in my finger. lol. Couldn't cut it with the snips, had to go to the hospital.
  22. Saw that today. Not sure how well it will work. If it doesn’t work out for you try the new Booyah Toad Runner. And if that doesn't work out for you make your own homemade Teckel Sprinker Frog.
  23. I don’t know what they are but they are the some of the sharpest hooks out of the package I’ve ever used. Lose very few fish with this lure. The second or third treble always seems to foul hook fish when they strike too, probably bc they are so sharp.
  24. Completely agree. I made the mistake of buying a bass boat. I had always fished 2 people in my boat but the year I bought my bass boat I started fishing 3 proper all the time. A bass boat sucks fishing 2 up front and one in the back. I don’t like being crowded up front. I used to have a Crestliner Fishhawk and it was a much better boat for multiple people. You lose a lot of feet of a bass boat by the way you sit so a 19’ foot bass boat is really like a 17’ foot boat. And with 2 kids that age a deeper boat is better so kids don’t fall out. In this kind of boat a kid can sit in a chair and have their pole over the wall. Most kids get tired and don’t want to stand all the time too.
  25. Sweet! Tail definitely seems larger than the Teckel Sprinker Tail compared to the size of the frog. These are cheaper than Spro’s, so if these work I’ll save a lot of money on using this instead of buying a Spro Bronzeye and Teckel Sprinker Tails.
