  1. I use pretty much all Elite Tungsten. VERY high quality and a price cheaper than a lot of companies
  2. Thanks! This water can be challenging at times, but I've had some really good days here.
  3. Yes, it's private water. Lucky to have access to it for sure.... It's not fish in a barrel, but with the right approach on any given day it can be pretty close. I did not get any water temps... I see you're in Vineland. I work in Millville. Small world
  4. Very clear water. It's an old sand pit. Love fishing there, it holds good fish and is a nice getaway from all the stained cedar water.. haha Here's another pic that gives you an idea. Bluegill beds in 2-3 FOW
  5. Absolutely amazing day yesterday... Crushed them with 6 fish over 4lbs. biggest went over 6 making it my PB.
  6. One of those days yesterday where everything you did seemed to pay off. The Bluegill were heavily nested on banks and the bass were off the edges in 5-7 FOW. Spinnerbaits worked around the edges of the banks took the bulk of the good fish, including my new personal best of over 6lb. 6 fish over 4lb with a 6lb kicker is the best day I've ever had around here. Most of the fish came on a War Eagle Nickel Screaming Eagle. 30+ fish on that bait and with only 2-3 pulled skirt strands. Becoming my favorite Spinnerbaits by far.
  7. by far my favorite drop shot hooks
  8. I've never had issues with the stock hooks on the 110s or the JRs. Then again, I don't horse fish on them either
  9. I've had 3 do the same thing. I won't be buying any more either. It's a shame because they catch, but I can't replace them at the rate they were breaking.
  10. Been using Gamma this year and loving it.
  11. they were backlashes when I was learning, now they are called "professional overruns"
  12. Alberto Knot is all I will use. I can tie it in the dark, its compact, and strong. I've used it to attach 40lb braid to 80lb leader all the way down to 15lb braid to 8lb leader. I've never had one fail...
  13. I get more emails a week regarding sponsorship than I can count... I read this yesterday and I'd recommend anyone looking to pursue a sponsorship deal read it as well.
  14. I fish them on the back of my Chatterbaits and get more bites on the fall than any other trailer it seems. Yoyoing them produces some pretty awesome strikes....
  15. Seems like its a 30 day MAP holiday.Probably a way to get them moving. This deal coincided with a massive marketing push on them, as well as giveaways at the Guntersville event and through Dave Mercer/Mark Zona. The #curadocatch contest was a good idea as well.
  16. a lot of people go through this, I know I know I did. You have to overcome an inconsistent release point and an unedcuated thumb. I started just pitching a jig into a trash can. That build confidence that my thumb was better able to detect and react to overruns happening. Once I had the thumb down, I could make more bad casts that didn't result in huge birds nests until it "clicked" and I started bombing baits. It took awhile, and a few spools of line. I wish I would have read more and learned the tape trick... that saves some serious hassle and cuts the learning curve.
  17. Many outlets selling them at huge discounts. great time to buy, that's for sure
  18. Red Dirt have been my favorites by far
  19. I don't buy a ton, but I know that Tackle Direct just got in a Japanese-only color 110. Stealth Wagasaki I believe was the name...
  20. The thing with distance, is that most people overestimate just how far they are casting... Coming from the surfcasting side of things, and being part of casting demos, you see it alot. With an 11ft rod and a 4oz lead sinker, I was putting it out to a measured 130yards(which isn't really a long cast to most), so when i hear about people claiming 100yard casts with a 1/2oz bait with hooks on it and a 7ft rod I just chuckle. Sorry... got off on a tangent there. I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't worry about the line capacity there..
  21. Vision 110s and Bladed Swim Jigs
  22. I think the best bang for your buck right now is on the Shimano Curados. Most retailers just knocked them down to ~$130. That reel is normally around $180 and fishes like more than that. That would be my pick if buying tomorrow.
