  1. I guess I'll be the one to say it... You didn't hook and lose all 11 fish because of the hook. I happen to like Trokar hooks for a few applications, but i seem to roll the points on them a lot. I'll be looking at the Owners
  2. Could very well be drawn on with a highlighter or marker
  3. Reaction Innovations Pocket Rocket
  4. Thanks all! If the winter's weren't so brutal I wouldn't mind living up that way
  5. Palomar knot for me. Wetting the knot very well and cinching it down from the TAG end will do well to decrease and issues you may have with knot weakening...
  6. The absolute best best is to get a good pair of boots and install Grip Studs in them. The 1800s are what i use I believe. They beat Korkers in almost every way but are expensive when you factor in cost of the boots and the spikes. For what you are doing, Korkers with the interchangeable soles are probably what I would look at though, but you have options.
  7. I've been using the 18lb Gliss on my dropshot setup and like it a lot. No durability issues with a long topshot of 8lb Gamma Edge. line does seem to fade a bit but other than that I am very pleased
  8. I played around with dropshotting on casting gear up at Erie and liked it a lot actually, but that's with heavier weights. with 1/16oz weights and such, I'm not sure there is an advantage to it but that may be just me. I just wanted an excuse to use the new Aldebaran
  9. These fish were hooked 10 seconds apart. On the same spot obviously. Maybe it's where they came from previous? One shallow one deep?

    Beautiful fish Hootie!
  11. Well it's official, I'm spoiled. I got an invite from a buddy to tag along to Lake Erie for 3 days and took him up on it. We left Thursday afternoon and made the 9 hour drive to fish Friday, Saturday, and Sunday out of Sandusky. Friday gave sporty conditions at best and downright rough most of the day. This was the kind of day you fished from your knees because you couldn't stand. Saturday and Sunday, however, were almost unbelievably nice with glass conditions at times. Friday we managed a best 5 fish that went 17lb 4oz. Not great, not terrible, but we found some things that we could build on. Saturday was one of the best days of fishing I've ever had. I started off the day catching a 3 1/2 on my first cast and thought the day was doomed because of that! After getting my stones busted for doing that and ruining the day, we didn't have a bite for over an hour. I decided to release the fish from the livewell in hopes that would somehow give us some good juju and it did... Almost immediately we started to catch fish, and quality ones! I've never considered myself the superstitious type, but i can say form now on my first cast every morning from now on will be no longer than 5ft....We had a bit over 19lbs at 9am and ended the day with a best 5 fish that went 24lb 3oz including my new PB smallie of 5.3lb. Most fish caught on a dropshot. Sunday we tried some different stuff and caught them almost as well. Best 5 went 22lb 8oz. Just as we were getting ready to head in, I made one last cast and hooked into a 5.1 that after a bunch of jumps and diving under the boat, came topside for a picture and release. It seems like once you figure out what these fish are doing and where, you can easily replicate that in almost any other similar area you find whether it be 100 yards away or 10 miles away. All in all, a trip I won't soon forget! Already looking at getting back up there this spring. 5.3 and a 4.8 Last cast of the trip= 5.1lb

  13. I won't get into jigs I don't like, as some may like them and don't see the point in a thread to find "the worst jig". The best? I am really liking the Missile Mini Flip jig. Good skirt, big hook, compact profile.
  14. an important factor here is what rods the reels are mounted on.
  15. its a TV show and a business. Fishing in private, managed waters will more than likely require less filming time and at the same time, produce more quality catches for the show. I think it's pretty clear why he would fish in these waters... he and the people producing the show would be stupid not to from a business standpoint
  16. It's always been braid with flouro leader for me. However, I'm slowly moving over to Gliss with Flouro leader.... so far so good. Hoping to make my final judgement on that up on Erie in the next few weeks.
  17. First time I ever threw one I caught almost 14 lbs on my first 3 casts. I have a lot of them now....
  18. The exclusions are probably more due to manufacturers enforcing pricing guidelines and less of TW deciding to exclude them.
  19. TW was sold out of all Gliss Tuesday with a delivery date of October 11... for whatever reason I checked back as I was shopping and it's all in stock now. Just got mine... love this stuff.
  20. TW order just showed up. More Gliss line (moving almost all my spinners to this....) 7Lb Sniper Poor Boy Gobies (road trip coming up.....) a bunch of Roboworms some of those Fuji hook keepers I've been meaning to buy for months.
  21. I have always used the Spro Frogs and the Booyah ones as well, but have been using a new one the last few weeks that I like better than either of them. Check out the new Terminator frog, this guy is the real deal.
