  1. Take a look at the Shane's Baits Blades of Glory rig... The only one I fish when it comes time to throw an umbrella rig and they come in quite a few configurations. One of my favorite parts about them is all the arms are replaceable, so when you break an arm you aren't out an entire rig. You can also keep separate arms pre-rigged to quickly change the look of the rig without tearing apart Keitechs...
  2. How can you help sell products? Have you had success working with other manufacturers? References? Do you have a working relationship with a tackle shop in your area? Do you attend industry shows, seminars, store events, etc? One major thing to consider that I think is overlooked by a lot of people applying for staff positions- you are one of many. How will you set yourself apart from the other emails or phone calls that company will receive this week? It's easy to get lost when your email is just a short introduction, a list of local tournament finishes, and "I like your products a lot and think they are the best on the market" thrown in at the end. I get a lot of emails requesting sponsorship and to be honest, most of them are lacking. It's a lot like applying for a job when you think about it and you'd be doing yourself a favor by approaching it as such. The link that Glenn posted has a lot of good information!
  3. Do you need anything to tell you its worth the price over a regular tatula? it's more like a $200 Type-R in Matte Black for $134 on sale. I bought 2 and went to buy 2 more when it said they were out of Stock
  4. If it were me, and I was looking for a line of rods that was from a quality, reputable company that could do a lot of different things, I would look at the Shimano Zodias.... Out of that list, the E6X would be the rod I would choose, but that line of rods was not built to be a "jack of all trades". Do yourself a favor at the same price and take a look at the Zodias rods
  5. Have 3 Fitzgerald rods coming my way with one being the new 6'9 MH Bryan Thrift Chatterbait Rod. Can't wait to put it to use.
  6. Picked this up on Monday. Megabass Orochi X4 F3-68X4 "Rattle Viper Technical Game" Also picked up a MetaniumXG and am going back and forth between putting the AldebaranHG or the Met on it.

  8. I located a couple when i was up there and it did just fine
  9. you will LOVE that rod for that... I broke mine in back in September on Erie and left a believer.
  10. good stuff guys. All this money we save not fishing in the winter will just be spent on more tackle HAHA
  11. picked up 2 Daiwa Tatula Tactical at $134. 15 bags of Gambler Burner Craws 20 Bags of Pit Bosses a couple 15pks of Trokar Flippin hooks Just spent some coin yesterday at another retailer... MetaniumXG and a Megabass Orochix4 Destroyer.
  12. Speaking from first hand experience in the matter, I would say this is the attitude not to take.
  13. Have never fished the Lews, but am very happy with the 4 Curados I have. Heck, I'm happy with all my Shimano reels from my Sahara to my Metaniums and Aldebaran. My advice would be go somewhere where you can handle both reels. They will both perform well and it may just come down to what feels better in your hand.
  14. The never ending debate. I'm right handed and fish right handed reels both spinning and casting. Why someone, somewhere decided that the handles would be on opposite sides is something I don't think about. One thing I don't get that you see alot- the idea of having your dominant hand on your rod? Not sure that you need to worry about that with the average fight a bass will put up is <1 Minute...

assuming you aren't looking to throw big baits, I'd say look at Keitechs. If you are getting into bigger baits but don't have a combo to throw 3+oz, take a look at the Megabass Magdraft in the 6" size.. that bait means business. I've caught a number of good fish on it this year.
  16. If you had issues with Gamma Edge, I would look at what caused those issues before assuming it was the Flourocarbon. Gamma is a great line. Dont give up on flouro, the benefits far outweigh the cons in certain situations
  17. I guess your buddy's name isn't Aaron Martens
  18. I never ask for anything anymore. I usually end up with gift cards which is fine. Last year I used the gift cards to buy an AldebaranHG and the year before I picked up an OrochiXX
  19. try the 4.8 Flick shake wacky rigged on a drop shot. That hair rigged wacky outfished Crosstails on a recent 3-day trip north.
  20. I'm curious if they will be allowed to record 2 catches of a fish the exact same weight? Same fish or not....
  21. For the sake of conversation lets control the playing field. Fishing for 4 hours. Alternating with him running the boat in hour increments throwing the same baits. Who wins? The beautiful thing about fishing is all the variables.....
  22. I think on a small body of water like a pond, anyone could out-fish these guys on a good day. To me though, that's not what it's all about. The most impressive thing about the pros (and what makes them so good) is the ability to break down 100's or 1000's of square miles of water into very small high-percentage area. Which do you think gives you better odds? 1. Walking the bank of a 3 acre farm pond fishing against a pro. 2. Launching at the same ramp on Lake X and having to figure it out.
  23. I've fished with a few Elite Series anglers and each had stock, off the shelf rods and reels on the deck. As Glenn said above, a few of the rods were from another supplier but all were stock and just the same as you or I could purchase.
