kb here just got done making a crankbait i thought looked real good. it had a blue belly and red pearlized top with foiled sides that where blue and then i added some poly flake to it put it in drying box and went to watch da bears wife came in and said your bait fell off drying box wheel and made a mess of it. talk about mad but i stripped it down to bare wood and know going to make two of them man it was looking gooooooood should have made two any ways when i make lures i make two and give one to my 15 year old grandson and he puts them in his knife collection gun cabinet i started buying case knifes in 1969 and would buy a few each year and gave the collection to him. he keeps it under lock and key the same as he does the cranks i make kb

kb again when you say waterbase varnish do you mean waterbase polyurethane , they call it polycrylic?kb

chris kb here where i fish on my home lakes in no.central indiana about 40 miles away from whittler on lake shafer and freeman the water is from stained to muddy about all summer with all the crazy wave runners.. have been bass fishing these lakes for 30 years and one thing i dont understand why one day i can throw a wide wobble crank "bandit " and catch fish next day same place cant get a bite goto a c.c. big o "tight" wiggle and catch fish. this i dont understand. and if your bait dont dig the bottom you wont catch many fish. so if the water is 5'deep i use a 8-10' crank kb got any advice how to up my catch kb you say there are three different actions in viberation i'am i wrong in saying a bandit is wide and big os is tight if iam correct what is a med wiggle kb i have also caught more fish after i have gone to a jerk bait kind of retrieve than i ever have. jerk,jerk pause jerk etc you know what i mean. i guess iam some what like you i would rather throw a crank more than any thing. but i do it all. the best i can. i have narrowed my lures down to rapala,cotton cordell . bandit,bomber, and the ones i make. have gotton rid of a lot of cranks i had that i bought and never used i thought if i could not catch fish with these cranks and buzzbaits and spinner baits and some plastic i would call it a day. any advice for a old man kb

kb here if you like a wide wobble crankbait they are the best. iuse them and cotton cordell big o's they have a tight wiggle two great baits .

kb here reelmech yes the age is correct, i dont tourney fish any more cant stand that much we have local t's on wed night and sunday morning that last only about4-5 hrs i still can handle these being retiered i get to fish about 3-4 days a week there are two lakes that run through our town there not big about 1600acers each i live about a 1/2 block away from on boat launch the other is about 2 miles away. just love to top water fish and i do throw a buzzbait all seasonjust dont know what rod to buy in what length or action i have a few st croix rods i spinnerbait and crank with but i like the 5'6" pistol grip type we have a lot of trees along bank that hang over and boat docks and boat piers that you have to fish under and i can do it better with a short rod. i also like to parallel along sea walls and rock banks i guess a 6-6 med with a fast tip with braid? kb

kbhere did you do the work yourself or have it done if so about what was the cost less tires and did you have to move the original axel in a different location. i have a 195 ranger single axel and wish i would have gotten the dual at the time the money was not that much different. to me i makes a lot of difference in towing my fishing buddy has a tandum trailor and it pull's like a dream compared to mine. ken

kb here what is? in you experiance with rod s and reel the very best rod. length ,tip handle. backbone etc and the best reel in the high ratio reel rods and reels in brand names useing 1/4 - 3/8 buzzbaits with power pro 30 lb line is there such a animal kb fishing a lot of small lakes and res. as 2000 acres kb

one bait it wont be is the chatterbait they are junk next year the will be giving you a $5 bill when you buy one kb

kbhere went to a new store to me about 30 miles so . of me called sportsman warehouse you guys probably have been to one this is the first one i have seen. man they got more fishing stuff than bass pro never seen so much did not get to stay long my son had a dr. appointment and had to leave but i will be back they got more stuff than raul can you believe that . was going to order a minn-kota trolling motor prop from b.p they wanted $44.00 at sportmans there price was $29.99. and there lures like rapala are all in alphabetical order. what a nice clean orginized store there goes the bait monkey, hey raul you want to go. kb

kb here about done just have to wax motor...i rubbed out complete outside of boat cleaned the carpet, armor all the seats waxed all the inside storage compartments of course taken all tackle out and the three batterys waxed the complete boat ( yes the bottom to ) and the trailor. changed lower unit oil and fogged sparkplug holes, greased all zerts, wd40 motor put stabilzer in , took prop of and greased spline. drained speedo tube plus water pressure line. that about all but to put ranger cover on what did i miss kb

kb here thats a great idea. that makes a lot of sense to me. use a rod for a day and you would know if you like it. not trying to sound cheap but trying a high end rod. you could get a $1,00.00 in 3-4 rods and then still not have what you want. i had a bunch of cheap rods meaning $50.00 and less and when a guy on the forum wanted donations for the kids in new orleans i sent him all i had upstairs in the attic. kb

you bet kb kindle here i was using green power pro and having a hard time seeing switch over to lo viz yellow in power pro i like to line watch helped me a lot wish i would have done it earley you wont go wrong kb

jim kb here good point but how am i going to get my hands on a good rod for me when there are a lot of top quality rods out there. are you saying if i like the rod in the store and it feels good buy it kb
