The front of my Vision 110's don't drag down with fluoro...

I use 10 lb. Sunline Reaction FC. Never had a problem with it.

I'd definitely look into the P-Line CXX. I use this line in 25 lb. for my a-rigs and it bends hooks out when I get snagged. I'm sure it will be fine around stumps and sparse weeds. Line is ridiculously strong.

I watched Hackney fish this tournament on Championship day and the spot he was fishing was 4-5 ft deep. He fished this spot the whole time so he must have tested the 8.0 on a different spot if he felt it hit 10ft on 20 lb fluoro. Every fish I saw him catch came on a jig but I'm sure he caught some on the 8.0 too. In my experience, throwing this bait on a 7'4" medium heavy glass crankin rod with 15 lb fluoro, it will go down to 6-7 ft. And that bait on the glass crankin rod casts a good 35 yards which is plenty for it to get down close to maximum depth. I haven't tried long-lining or dipping my rod tip under the water to get it deeper tho... Edit: And I didn't mean that in a ***** kind of way Grantman83 lol didn't want you to think I was being like that.

I love soft tips on my jig, texas rig, and wobble head rods. When it comes to Dobyns, their 5 power rods have soft tips with more backbone and that is what I prefer when throwing any of the baits I listed. If I owned a 703C I would use it for spinnerbaits or finesse jigs in the 1/4 oz range. But that's just me, everyones opinion is different.

I had Dan at ReelEx supertune a Curado 50E for me and casted side by side on the same rod, line, and bait with a 50MG7, there was no difference in the casting distance between the supertuned 50E and stock Core 50MG7.

I personally would not throw a 3/8 oz bottom contact bait with a 3 power Dobyns. 3/8 oz weight plus a bait seems to overpower those 3 power Dobyns IMO. To me a 3 power Dobyns is more suited for more finesse baits (1/4 oz like you stated) or moving baits maxing at 3/8 oz spinnerbaits or chatterbaits.

I don't own it anymore but I used to. Got on with another company. And thats weird that you felt that way about the 734c because I found a 3/4 oz jig overpowering for that rod. The DX784 is awesome tho. It's made for deep water with a soft tip to help on hooksets.

Ducketts are pretty "soft" in the tip. When I am throwing a jig in open water on a ledge then I prefer a soft tip on my rod, but if I am throwing it around laydowns then I prefer a flippin stick. I have used a lot of Ducketts but I no longer use them because of many quality control issues that I have experienced. I would try a different brand if I were you, but it's your choice.

Everything Duckett is overpriced...

A 300 size Shimano is unnecessary in my opinion. I throw them on a Curado 200E5 and have also thrown them on a Lew's BB1 and both work great. I also would suggest throwing them on 10 lb fluoro to help really get them down there and the 806cb is an awesome rod to throw them on!

Don't pick up the Duckett because you like the white better than the white on the Veritas. I say this because the Ghost turns yellow the more it is exposed to sunlight. I agree with smallies24/7, the *** *** Black is leaps and bounds better than the Duckett Ghost and Abu Garcia Veritas.

Those should be two different setups IMO. I use 16 lb mono for my top waters and 8-10 lb fluoro for my jerkbaits. I find jerkbaits are better on fluoro, that is why I use two different setups.

I throw mine on a 7'3" Heavy custom glass rod. Length can be whatever you want it to be, but I would never throw them on anything other than glass after using this rod. It has the bend of a crankbait rod, but it has more backbone because of it's heavy power. This also doubles as my hollow bodied swimbait stick. I throw 17 lb. Seaguar Invizx on a Shimano Chronarch 200E6 with a 94 mm Hawgtech handle

I know where you can get them for $150...

16 lb. Sunline SX1 braid to an 8 lb. Sunline Sniper FC leader.

The only fluoro I have liked in that price range is Sunline Super Fluorocarbon. Treat it with a little KVD Line & Lure and it is actually a great line. If you can wait Tackle Warehouse usually has buy one get one free towards the end of the year on Sunline Super Fluorocarbon and you could get it even cheaper.

Use the drop shot hook keeper for the weight, wrap the line around the rod, then put a rod glove over it. This is what I do and I have never had a problem.

You shouldn't have bought that Chronarch. I have 3 Curado I's and 3 Chronarch Ci4+ and I don't even want to pick my Curados up anymore haha. I asked this same question a while back on a different forum and everyone said nothing has come out yet. Hedgehog Studio usually has all the latest mods first tho so I would just continually check there if I were you. I know they have a few dress up parts like screws and other minor stuff, but nothing like spools and drag stars.

I'm a fan of the 705CBGlass for spinnerbaits. I like glass for all moving baits though, unlike most.

It's true Arv, I just ordered some reels thru a Shimano rep and wanted the Core 100MG7 but he said he couldn't get it anymore because it's discontinued, so I opted for the Core 50MG7 instead...I'm not complaining tho

Spinning was some $15 Shimano combo from Dick's and casting was an Abu Garcia Blue Max combo from Academy. Now I have 15 customs with Shimanos on them. I guess you could say I'm addicted...
