my hook sets generally depend on how hard the fish hits. hard hit I give a fairly hard hook set softer hit usally just start reeling.

I have a phenix 7'7 ml inshore ocean rod that I love!!! At 169 it's a sick deal for a great rod. Ps, just broke mine actually my fault completely:( sent it in Didn't pay a nickel and had a new rod within a week!! Just 20 for shipping...
