They didn't request that I return the broken rod. Will they if/when a new one arrives?

Spinning Reel Suggestions
I had a Stadic and a Saros stolen off my boat in April. I've only replaced one so far with a Sahara. So far I've been pleased with it.

Shimano lifetime warranty
I snapped a SLX in half the weekend before last. Only had the rod two weeks. Called Shimano and they gave me an email address to send the completed warranty form. I've yet to even get a reply from them regarding it.

1995 Ranger 481v, Mariner Magnum 150 EFI, jackplate, 3 bank charger, Fortrex 80 w/recessed pedal, Helix 9 SI/DI/GPS at helm and LED's in the compartments. I've got a new rub rail insert sitting in a box in my garage, but just haven't had a chance to install it yet. Got this last month and couldn't be happier so far.

Mercury XR6 Cold Start
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like at the minimum it could be annoyance that I don't want to deal with when anxious to get on the water. It give me flashbacks of how I felt about an old Harley Shovelhead I had. It seemed like the more people watching the more kicks it took to get it started.

Mercury XR6 Cold Start
I've been looking at boats for quite a while and ran across one recently on Craigslist that may have some potential. However, part of the seller's description about the motor is what I need educated on. I've searched some of the other boards to get as much info as I can but thought I'd ask you guys for your input. I've read XR6's tend to be cold natured and that's just a characteristic of carbed motors. Below is the description in the ad. It seems like the obvious causes of starting problems have been addressed(except maybe a battery which wasn't mentioned in the ad). You guys have any other ideas as to what would cause cold starting problems after replacing all the stuff mentioned in the ad? Or is that just the nature of the beast? Not sure on the hours on the motor but the powerhead was rebuilt 2 and half years ago. The lower unit was replaced a year and half ago. The carbs were rebuilt 8 months ago along with all new fuel lines, fuel pump, and primer bulb. It comes with two gen2 lowrance hds 7s. The trailer could use some new wiring for the lights and lately the motor has had kind of a problem with a cold start, but the motor runs fine once it is started. It does need some work but it wouldn't take much too have her ready for the water

Possible new to me boat transom
So I looked at a 1996 Ranger 461vs today. I noticed something on the transom that has me questioning it. The bottom paint came up all the way to the rub rail on the setback. This has me thinking about possible transom problems/work in the past or if the bottom was just repainted and someone brought it up that high. Anyone have any thoughts or seen setbacks on 461's painted like this? https://imageshack.us/i/pom5HFi3j Also, the color is a lot more gray on person than it looks in this picture.

Need to re-spool all my reels
I've been using Seaguar Red Label for fluoro. Ive tried more expensive fluoro but couldnt justify the cost difference. As for mono, Big Game is my go to. Then again, maybe I'm just a cheapskate

Refurbished dobyns rods, fury and savvy models
They appear to be a good deal especially since the price on their site includes the shipping cost.

Which GoPro is best suited for my situation
Before you drop a bunch of money on a GoPro, check out the reviews and comparison videos on youtube of SJCam cameras. Way cheaper than GoPros and vids look just as good or better to me.

Dobyn's 703/704 and 733/734 rod
I do, but take my opinion with a grain of salt. I will say that I use my 733 for spinner/chatterbaits/small tx rigs when I'm out fishing for fun. However, the whole time I'm thinking I should probably be using a heavier rod. For example, with the 733 I'm comfortable throwing a half oz lipless crankbait, but would be hesitant to throw a half oz jig on the same rod. To me, I just have more confidence with single hook presentations using the 734 regardless of whether its a regular EWG or a superline EWG.

Dobyn's Fury 704C vs. 734C
I say the 734. I have one and it's the most versatile rod in my lineup.

Dobyn's 703/704 and 733/734 rod
I can't provide any insight on the difference between the lengths, but I do have the 733 and 734. Big worms most likely means big hooks and for that reason I'd go with the 734 for better hook penetration. Same reason for choosing the 734 over the 733 for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits. I tend to use my 733 for treble hook baits. As for being under powered, I can't accurately say how much, but they definitley are.
