Road To The Super Bowl!
You didn't know that was called the KC Chiefs Shuffle? Rock it out until the last 4 minutes of the game??? Heck... that's basically a staple around here. Miller and Ware are nightmares when you have a QB that likes to scramble for 5-7 seconds per play... Any player lined up against fisher is gonna touch our QB... almost guaranteed.

A 1.35 oz bait on a spinner bait rod??? Sounds dangerous...

That still doesn't solve the rod/reel combo!!!! I do have a few baits for you to paint drew. I'll catch up with you on that.

Jigs, Will You Only Buy Hand Tied?
I only use hand made wire tied jigs now. I use to use banded ones, but I keep a large assortment of jigs. I have multiple of sizes, styles for each color I throw. I was getting a lot of band rot. I also started having issues with the guards. This was a VERY reputable company that I basically no longer use.

Lost A Fish On My Frog....what Happened?
This This While I LOVE watching bama bass on youtube, I don't think that's a good teaching tool on frogging. Big difference on how a 1-2lb fish blows up a from versus the 5-9lb fish that ALWAYS blow up on his.

If I had a rig to throw it on already, I probably would own one. But since I don't, it's not just a $50 purchase, more like a $250 purchase by the time I get the rig... and I'm married... nuff said..

Poppin Frog Vs Walking Frog
This, and I also shove 1-2 jig rattles in the back squirt hole. Adds a little something so they can key in on it in the slop.

I can't do it! I'd have a stroke or throw my rig in the lake. Too many follows with not enough catching. I'll give them their credit, big fish eat them. Big fish eat spooks too! Lol

Lost A Fish On My Frog....what Happened?
Feel better wasn't meant aggressive or condescending, it was exactly what I said. You knew you did a half hearted hookset and you lost the fish because of it. Had you left that part out, 99% of the replies would say to wait, not to wait, use braid, do this, do that. The first 3 you landed were the exception, not the rule. I swing for the fences on every technique I use, just set drag accordingly on lighter stuff such as shaky heads. Keep at it and welcome to the addiction.

Lost A Fish On My Frog....what Happened?
Pretty much answered your own question. Nobody here will make you feel better about it. Give it your all or stay home basically. If the fish comes flying, so be it. I take it you've never flipped water willows? Lol. Swing for the fences buddy

I think the big ones are right with the smaller fish as well. Just got to fish your way through them. It's like freaking parana's on meat! Cant tell you how many times a big fish blew up a spook, but a 10" fish got hooked up. Or how many times a BIG fish was following a hooked up fish.

What Went Wrong
It's getting to that time of year buddy. Slow down, fish small and be patient.

Had To Use A Tool That We All Should Have In Our Bag Of Tricks This Afternoon. What Is It?
So it removes the hooks? Give us a little detail man. I'm actually curious about this.

Targeting Flats
To me it's relevant to the lake and surrounding areas. A flat could be a few hundred square feet to the entire back half of a mile long cove.

Foul Hooked
Id say it swiped at it. Would think it would be pretty hard to foul hook on a spinner bait if it didn't swipe at it.

Question About Keeping Fish In Livewell....not In A Tournament Situation
The part that is hard for me to grasp is why it is ok when a little money or bragging rights is on the line, but not ok for joe shmo to do it for pictures? I'm going to assume that a fish sitting in well working (key words "well working") livewell doesn't get anymore stressed out than he was earlier when you crossed his eyes with a jig. The point is to do everything that you can to make sure the fish returns to his natural environment alive and well. Sometimes that doesn't happen, whether that be from a livewell, or the catch. I would hope that anyone who puts fish in the livewell "babysits" them and if they start acting up, the are released back into the deep. As stated earlier, to each his own. Certain topics will never be agreed upon.

This will get moved to the central section soon, where you will most likely get more answers. But here is my 2 cents. You are going down at a great time of year and staying very near to where I stay when I go there. (I stay at 4mm). Key is gizzard shad. You will find several balls of the small threadfin, but they are super unproductive that time of year. Find the big gizzard shad in the back of coves with good creek (easily found on google maps or a "hot spots map"). Fish the docks at the backs of those coves with a jig, spook, buzzbait (crock-o-gator head knocker is the bomb there). Bladed jig (bluebasser86 custom made me a color just for that time of year and that lake... just saying). If you find the coves with the gizzard shad, don't put down the spook or buzzbait (buzzbait is my favorite big fish producer that time of year). If you have a good grasp of a bladed jig, that will be deadly too as long as you can cast EXTREMELY ACCURATE. Fish the face of the docks (meaning 10 yards in front of the docks to catch the brush piles) in. Make sure you hit the corners, ladders, cables and walk way. Don't be afraid to cast over a cable now and then (sometimes you can't get under them). You have to worry about hooking them before worrying if you can get them out. 2nd best option if you can't find the shad: There are also several main lake points right by the dam. If it's generating I can promise you if you throw a lake fork live magic shad on a swinging football head and count rocks as you drag it on the points, you'll be very happy with the outcome. With the right wind, it doesn't matter if the the dam is generating or not. (They should be pulling water to take the lake down to "winter pool"). Good luck man!!!
