As everyone has said, sharp hooks matter. HOWEVER, they make the situation worse if your rod is too stiff for cranking. You could be losing them due to the rod not giving enough when the fish turns and darts causing the hooks to pull through.

Yes sir! Can take 3 rods to our local smallie hole and dominate! Tube, 1.0 square bill, spook. Of course, in the winter months I'll replace that 1.0 with a jerkbait!

That is just like my first truck. Mine was red and silver. Loved that truck until the short shaft on the front axle went pop.

I really only fish tubes when small mouth fishing, but I use that technique. Buddy of mine flips a tube quite a bit and has good success.

Yup, I love the academy hardbaits. The 1.0 equivalent is a small mouth killer around here!

You could probably throw anything you want on a mushroom head and get results. Will it have the same action or will you "work" it the same way? Highly doubtful.

99% of the time I use a 3/0-4/0 EWG hook. I use a 3/8 oz weight for t-rigs.
