  1. Bill Dance is a great fisherman. Period. You can't, and shouldn't try to take that away from him. That guy has probably forgot more than most of us have learned. I totally get why people don't get "entertainment" from his shows. It's no different than watching Michael Wadell or Lee and Tiffany Labowski hunt. When it's a private, well managed area, of course they are gonna get trophies every time. In turn for that, people buy their products because it just has to work like that everywhere if it works for them right? I can lean either direction. I don't want to waste time watching tv for someone to catch dinks or nothing, but I also don't want to see 4-7lbers getting yanked out every other cast on a freaking spinnerbait either.
  2. wow... so many words could be said, but I'll just stick with wow...
  3. I'll get out there someday. I'm feeling a vacation day on a Thursday in the next few weeks... doubt it would be all that hard to convince Clayton to roll that direction.
  4. Just keep thinking "fish off practice". lol. I've yet to even see cedar valley.
  5. Exactly, a brave man would remind her of that next time she goes to the BOGO sale at payless.... A smart man however, would smile and say "whatever you want dear".
  6. Jig- 15# fluorocarbon Crank- 10# fluorocarbon flipping/pitching/punching- 50+# braid Hollow body frog- 65# braid spinner bait, bladed jig, buzzbait, hard walking bait, popper- 15# mono Shaky head/wacky rig- 20# braid. That's what I use in my waters. Should get you started.
  7. For a frog rod man go to Academy Sports and get a 7'3" H H20 Ethos. $80 bucks normally but can get them on sale for way better than that. I think I got mine for $60.
  8. I actually skipped Hillsdale both times... Put me in a tight points race for the top... Worth it??, totally. lol.
  9. Yes sir. I'm old school when it comes to some foods, and I feel like chicken and frog legs should always be fried in a cast iron skillet! Just like Great GMA used to do it!
  10. My wife is always pretty easy to convince. Granted, it costs me my credit card and the fear knowing that she has 16 hours of unsupervised shopping possible. Just drives me that much harder on the water. Oh well, it's just money... so technically it's hers anyways right?
  11. Our fish off is in the middle of October. Not sure when another weekend deal could get squeezed in.
  12. Lol, 14 is minimal! I wouldn't mind it but dang if it doesn't happen at the most inopportune times! Kids play, church, out on the town pitching woo to the wife... DANG-IT MAN!!!!
  13. I've never had an issue with it in the past. Seems most of the times I'm fishing 15-25 FOW on points. One particular time on LOZ our trolling motor batteries were zapped but we were on good fish on a point. My buddy kept the gas motor running and kept us in place. Didn't affect the fish in the slightest bit. Was catching them 15-18 FOW then.
  14. Operator error buddy. I did exactly what Glenn said to do and it worked just fine for me.

  18. I'll agree with you that it is super strong, and it stretches like crazy, making it that much stronger. You can feel a big flathead grinding its jaws a literally saw through mono though.
  19. Well quit being such a BA and get out there! Put them custom painted baits to work!
  20. Whenever your wife isn't looking???
  21. Lol, heck of a disguise that "small mouth" is wearing! lol
