The response problem does sound like a cable or linkage issue. That could effect the top end as well. Hope it is as simple as that!

6lb nanofil will cast a country mile. Use cheap Mono to pre-fill your spool then finish it off with the more expensive line.

Since you know where the fish are, stay well back and cast past them. If you can see them they can see you. Wear clothing that will blend with your background. Hide behind things. Stealth is key!

I have not had a problem with the hook up using O-rings, but I do have a problem with the weed guard getting pulled inside out. Hard to figure how that happens.
