  1. Could it be that the crawfish take much longer to digest because of the exoskeleton? Even if a fish didn't eat crawfish often, it would be in their stomach for longer than a more easily digestible prey.
  2. Be sure to follow through, don't stop the motion of the rod too early. I finish my cast by pointing my rod tip where I want the lure to land. My wife had the problem of stopping the rod too early in the cast and it always caused it to go left on a sidearm or straight into the ground on an overhead cast.

  4. I was thinking one of these: I've got one on a crappie jig pole, lol. I use RoadRunners for crappie, but never used the big ones for bass.
  5. T-rig worm Spinnerbait Squarebill
  6. I got a pair of Natives for $60 on Sierra Trading Post. They were normally $130
  7. The braids with more carriers do not make noise. Suffix 832 or PowerPro SuperSlick are quiet as non-braided lines.
  8. Typically contrast is just a display setting that specifies how much difference there is between the light parts and dark parts of the screen. But if you turn it up, it may make it easier to see lighter images on the screen.
  9. No, straight fluorocarbon has way too much stretch. You have to take up all that slack to set the hook, not so with braid.
  10. I did mine at 7:30 this morning. Forget doing it in the heat.
  11. I could never get the FG to hold. Been using the Alberto for years now and never had a failure.
  12. I have a Jackson Cruise 12 and a Native Watercraft Slayer 12. These are both great boats. I got them both on CL, $700 for the Cruise and $600 for the Slayer.
  13. If you hooked it in the roof of the mouth, in just the right spot, you could have injured the brain. Or maybe it was just a sick fish to begin with. It happens, there's plenty of fish in the sea/lake/river. It won't go to waste, it'll be a good meal for a turtle. Circle of life.
  14. If that 2.0L is being fed by a turbo, you'd be surprised at what it can do. That 2.0L EcoBoost in the Escape makes 240HP and 270 ft.lbs. That's more power than the 4.0L in my Tacoma. I'm sure it's limiting factor is its ability to stop with a load. "No replacement for displacement" simply isn't true anymore with advances in reliable forced induction and direct injection.
  15. This has been my experience as well with the Alberto/Modified Albright.
  16. I had a Nikon D90 for a long time and recently sold it and bought a Fujifilm X-T1. It is a really awesome camera. Here's a few from my Flickr: DSCF8464.jpg by Paschall Leus, on Flickr DSCF7798.jpg by Paschall Leus, on Flickr DSCF0671.jpg by Paschall Leus, on Flickr
  17. I picked up a Browning Safari 6'6" ML 4 piece at BPS for $80. It is really nice, doesn't feel like a multi piece rod at all. It is just as sensitive as my 1 piece Berkley Lightning rod.
  18. I use a fish grip for the toothy fish, my hands for the rest.
  19. I just stick my Slayer 12 in the back of my 5' bed Tacoma. Just one ratchet strap through the middle handles and a flag on the back.
  20. What? The leader goes on the end you throw in the water... never touches the reel. You must be thinking about spooling mono on first as backing.
  21. Is the leader slipping out of the knot or just breaking right at the knot? I have never had an Alberto knot fail. Make sure the braid goes in and out of the loop the same direction (so that the braid is parallel going through the loop), if it is not it will fail. I like the concept of the FG knot, but only get about half the ones I tied to hold. I think the Alberto is the best all around braid to leader knot, high strength and small size.
  22. I have mine stuck to the inside of my Slayer 12 with plumbers putty. I have an Elite 5. Have had no issues and get a clear image on the unit. I don't see why you would do it any other way on a kayak, unless the boat has a big recessed scupper for a transducer, like the Ride 115X.
