Backpacking Rods That Are Actually Decent?
Does anyone know of any spinning rods that break down small enough to back pack with that are actually decent rods? I have an UL ugly stick that would be small enough, but it is so whippy. Are there any "UL" sized rods that still have feel similar to a 6'6" M rod? I have a 2 piece Berkley Lightning 6'6" M that I would like to take on my next backpacking trip, but it is too long once broken down into 2 pieces.

Putting Backing Line On Reel Before Putting Fresh Line On
If you have a couple of extra reels you can put your mainline on first and then reverse it. Like a 3-point turn. Put the amount of mainline you want to use on the reel you want to use. (I put on around 75 yards of braid) Then, fill the reel the rest of the way up with your backing. Take one of your extra reels and reel off what you just put on. Do it again with the second extra reel and now the backing is on the top of that reel. Now, you can reel it all back on to the reel you want to use. This seems like extra work, but I can do this as fast as figuring up how much backing to use to have a full spool under 75 yds of braid.

Whats The Best Braid To Fluoro Knot
I tried tying the FG a few times just now. I could only get it to bite and hold about 3/10 times I tried it. The times it didn't hold the knot looked the same as the ones that held but the leader just slipped right out of the braid. I'm using 30lb PP with 12lb Trilene 100% Fluoro. It is really not that much smaller than the Alberto for line this size. I am gonna stick with the Alberto.

Are There Any Other Guitar Players Out There?
Just got a good deal on a Bad Cat Cougar 15. I know it is not a "real" Bad Cat, but I've heard they are still awesome amps. Hopefully it will be here by the weekend.

Are There Any Other Guitar Players Out There?
Yep, been in a band for about 5 years now. I play a Nashville Telecaster and a Gretsch Jet through an Egnater Tweaker. I play the mandolin a little as well. Here's my pedal board as of now:

Best Braid You Have Used
I use original power pro because it is the only braid in a high vis color I can find locally. I would like to try 832, but even my local BPS doesn't have it in high-vis colors.

Transducer Mount For Kayaks
I just installed mine with plumbers putty and it works great. It works just as good if not better than when I had it on the trolling motor on my boat. I don't see why you would do it any other way.

New Carbonlite Rods
The new Carbonlite baitcaster looks pretty sweet too. I'm thinking about picking one up.

Use braid? 30lb Power Pro is 12lb mono diameter.

Feathering Line When Using Baitcasters
It is most important to have a smooth motion with the rod when casting. Snapping the rod too hard or too quick will cause a backlash. You can put a lot of energy into a cast, but it has to be smooth and the timing must be right.

What Is Your Favorite Species Outside Of Bass And Why?
Crappie, they taste awesome. I think I fished for Crappie more than Bass last year.

Braid To Floro Leaders
I use the Alberto for all the reasons stated above. The Albright might be a little smaller when tied correctly, but I find the Alberto easier to tie.

20 Bones
Vendetta2 means 2nd gen Vendetta. Most of the spinning rods are available in one or 2 piece, a few of the casting rods are as well.

20 Bones
I've got 2. A medium and a medium heavy, both 6'6". I like them. Light and stiff.

Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 Vs Duckett Ghost! Please Help
The guides on the Veritas are better. The Veritas is probably a little stiffer, like all Abu rods.

Kayak Anglers! What 3 Rod/reels?
30lb PowerPro. 12lb fluoro leader for t-rigs and cranks, 8lb on the spinning rod.

Kayak Anglers! What 3 Rod/reels?
When I Bass fish from my kayak I carry 4 setups. All 6'6": MHF casting for texas rig, jigs, and frogs. 2 MF one for spinner baits and one for crankbaits, I might use the stiffer of the 2 for a texas rig if I've got something else rigged up on the MHF. And then a MF spinning setup for senkos or any other light baits.

Question For Plumbers
All these people trying to shower at the same time? I would have thought that it wouldn't matter if you aren't asking it to heat too much water at once. I thought that was how a tankless worked, heats water on demand instead of keeping a limited tank hot.

No. Guy and his wife seemed alright. It was actually through another forum, Crappie.com.
