  1. Do a Google search. It comes up on the Shimano Japan page.
  2. Different strokes for different folks...
  3. I only throw black buzzbaits anymore, but I honestly think if they're eating a buzzbait, they'll probably hit any color you throw.
  4. If you're willing to part that sunfish one, PM me.
  5. If this is the same one that the head that attaches to the spool spins 360* while you're spooling, then yes, I have seen promo video's for it and it looks like it would twist your line terribly. However, if that head that holds the spool is in a fixed position, then this looks like a great product.
  6. That's not buyers remorse, that's called the bait monkey, and you have already been bitten. There is no known cure. Best of luck.
  7. I've already got 3 of the '13 Metaniums and they're my favorites. This MGL feels even nicer in my hands so far. I'm sure I'll be selling some of my other reels to get myself 2-3 of the Chronarch MGL's once they're available. I got that Tatula HLC for frogging. The 8.1 ratio should be well suited for that.
  8. I added three new members to my starting rotation this winter.
  9. My buddy kills the largemouth with the pearl white/chartruese tail. Bluegill flash and Houdini work well up here as well because we have a lot of bluegill and perch.
  10. It has Shimano in the name, doesn't it?
  11. The spawn can be different in every body of water, so perhaps someone is more of an expert on this than me. However, no/little ice can mean a longer growing season for the fish, and around here, it usually means a weedier fishing season than normal.
  12. Glass is the way to go, and yes, stick with the 580. I wear the green mirror and it's worked well in all water conditions. I'm no expert on lens colors, but I've been told that any mirrored lens is better for sunny conditions. I ordered mine through a dealer I found on Facebook, and he was able to save me around $50-60 off retail.
  13. Considering I have 20+ casting reels, there's no way I could afford to swap them all out. I would recommend trying it out on one or two reels before you go changing them all out. There's so many different brands and lengths, so I would do some research.
  14. My Father and Grandfather still have some Extreme's from the late 90's/early 00's that they still use. They love the powerhump grip on the cork handle because they hold their rod down there. I still have 2 myself stashed away at my parent's house somewhere. I figured they would eventually go away with the Carbonlite series.
  15. Pretty neat to see that split shot at the tail like that. Ancient technology before they figured out how to put a moving ball weight inside of the plastic body. Sorry, but I can't help with the dating.
  16. If you are going to fish as a co-angler, you're at the mercy of your boater. Whether he's good or bad, you're at his mercy. So going out and hiring a guide would really do you no good unless you were to enter the tournament with your own boat.
  17. I don't own any, but I'd love to have a 75 and a 527 in .204.
  18. Very informative video. I wish I had knew a lot of these tips years ago.
  19. From looking at their website, it's a small company based out of Minnesota. I wouldn't bash an American based company before trying their products. He's a guy just like us, just trying to make a living.
  20. Do a simple Goggle or Facebook search for bass clubs in your area/state/lake. I'm sure you'll get lots of results. Contact them and tell them you'd like to join to fish as a co-angler. See if the format they fish allows for a non-boater/co-angler. Some do, some don't. Pick the club that seems like the best fit for you and you should be set.
  21. I thought the original Bantam Curado was the technically the "A" series? I've never seen a green colored reel in that series, but perhaps I am wrong? I was born in 88 and I started with baitcasting with the classic green B series Curado in the late 90's, so maybe I'm just not familiar with the earlier reels.
  22. There are 3 generations of Curado's that have been green in color. The B (bantam) series was the original "greenie" and was highly considered the reel that really put Shimano at the top of the heap as far as quality casting reels went in the mid 90's. The E and G series are both green as well. The E series are still highly sought after and still bring upwards of $150 easily. Regardless of which generation Curado you're looking at, they're all quality reels that will treat you will if maintained properly.
  23. Check out PAFishermen. It's a great site for the locals. Welcome to BassResource! Lots of great knowledge on here.
