  1. Wow man that's awesome. I need to take a trip up to where you fish. I'm going to Plymouth next week hoping to catch my first smallie. I hope I have a day half as good as one of yours. I love seeing your pictures you always catch big ones. Great report.
  2. I just started using baitcasters this year and I've finally started to get decent with it. I've found that while I can use a righthanded reel it feels a little awkward. So I bought a left handed reel and it feels much better. I'm righthanded and setting the hook with my dominant arm just makes more sense to me. I've had problems setting the hook with frogs because you really have to drive those hooks home and with my left arm it just doesn't feel right. I'm still gonna use both and see if it starts to feel normal.
  3. What language was that wow I saw something like this yesterday and did a double take. Crazyness. Hahaha
  4. Best spinning reel for the money I just bought another one. Smooth drag holds up great. I don't see the need to buy any other spinning reels when these are so good and so cheap.
  5. I love river2sea baits I had one of the best days I've ever had fishing throwing a whopper plopper. The bubble walker has also produced for me. I think people might think they're gimmicks because Larry Dalberg has so many ideas for new baits. If you've ever watched his show the hunt for big fish you'd know what I'm talking about this guy is unbelievable. He's forgotten more about fishing then I could ever learn. The diver frog is junk but most other baits are pretty good quality. Just my 2cents.
  6. That's an awesome picture. I've never tried florocarbon before but I'm going to be putting 8 lb invizix on before I go on this trip. I just use braid with everything because all the places I fish have dirty water. And I'm not very good with tying knots so leaders are difficult for me. I can't wait for this vacation. Thanks for that map and all the tips guys I would be lost without this place.
  7. Oh that sounds like a good place is that the actual name of it halfway pond? I love to fish when I'm the only one there. Sounds like a good place to try I haven't been fishing much lately as work has been crazy. I got out yesterday and caught a tiny bass on a frog. But my mom caught her first bass and that was pretty awesome. All I saw was her swing the fish in and it was nice 2 lber. Pretty good day. Thanks for al the suggestions guys I really appreciate it. I'll try to post if I catch my first smallie.
  8. I just bought a ride 115 for 800 it is the best thing I've ever bought. It was only used for a season before I got it and was in good shape. It's a little heavy but not too bad. I can move it around with no help pretty easily. I paid 1100 for a Lowrance elite4 a nice pfd, bending branches paddle, anchor trolley and anchor. It was worth every penny just to get out on the water. It completely changed fishing for me. So many more places you can go. You can stand up in the ride 115 it takes a little getting used to but I can do it now pretty good. It took me awhile to get the hang of it but once you get your balance on it. Get it you won't regret it.
  9. Thanks alot guys. Great info I'm definitely gonna try that tip with the elaztech worms. My shopping list just got a little longer haha.
  10. I do have a kayak and yes please send me a message with any info you have. I need to buy some more baits this weekend so that would be awesome. Thanks alot.
  11. Thanks alot I've heard alot about those places. Hopefully I'll be able to get my first smallie.
  12. I'm going to Plymouth the week of the 22nd does anyone have any suggestions on where to fish? Gonna be there the whole week so I'm probably going to try a bunch of different spots. I know there's smallies in some ponds there and I'm going for my first one. Any baits that work especially good down there? Thanks in advance.
  13. Hey guys I have a question. I work nights and sometimes I work 3 to 11 and I'd like to try night fishing. Does anyone know of any places that allow night fishing? Everywhere I go has a sign saying no trespassing after dark. Thanks guys.
  14. Yup I caught a giant snapper on a senko last year. I thought it was a huge fish but then it just felt like it cemented itself to the bottom. After a while I just cut the line and gave up. I saw a huge one try to get my frog last weekend that wouldn't have been good.
  15. Bronzeye shad in killer gill. ? I tried the lunker hunt combat frog and it just sunk. Do they all do that?
  16. Hey guys I've got a question. My mother wants to get a kayak and I don't wanna spend a grand but around 500 maybe less. It's doesn't need to be a fishing yak. She just wants to go on to the water with me. Thanks guys. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
  17. Hey Mike just saw this today. Congrats on the first one. I'm hoping to catch mine soon. I just found out my aunts private pond down the Cape has smallies. I'm gonna plan on going down there soon maybe you'd like to come down for a day or two. I think it's gonna be awesome.
  18. Wow that's a good one. Awesome man I can't wait to catch my first smallie. I actually just found out last weekend that my aunts private pond has tons of smallies in it. I cant believe it took me this long to find that out. I used to swim there when I was a kid. I wish I knew about fishing back then. I'm either gonna catch one on vacation in two weeks or when I go down to my aunts. All I know is I'm dying to catch a smallmouth. Great fish man I hope my first one is that big.
  19. Congrats on the pb. That looks like a 5 lber to me. I've got a similar story to you except I never fished before last year. I wouldn't know a single thing about bass fishing without BR. This place has taught me more than I could've ever imagined. In the last year I've been lucky enough to have caught 6 fish over 5lbs. None of this would've been possible without all the great people on these forums that will answer any questions you could come up with. If the world was filled with the people on bass resource I think there would be world peace. Haha but seriously thanks to everyone on here you've made my life alot more enjoyable.
  20. I've had a decent week last Monday went to my favorite spot and caught a bunch on a whopper plopper. The weekend I was at a lake in foxboro and caught a million pickerel and one decent bass. Then on the way home stopped back at my spot and caught 2 small ones on a rage cutr worm and 1 close to 4lbs on a frog. That was my first one on a frog this year and I almost lost it. As soon as I got it in the kayak the frog fell out. Close one I need to get better at setting the hook with the frog I've missed a bunch of fish. Hope you guys have better luck.
  21. I have seen videos of guys trying to tip it over and they wouldn't tip even from the back of it. I just need to get over the weird feeling and not worry about it. Thanks guys I appreciate it. I finally have a whole weekend off and I plan on being in the kayak the whole time. I can't wait to go fishing.
  22. Wow that pond looks beautiful. That's a good day of fishing. I want to catch a smallmouth this year that is my goal.
  23. Im not sure I've looked and haven't found anything like that. I would like to get one of those. I've seen them that have a slot where you can put your paddle.
  24. I can stand up fine it's once I'm standing it just feels like I'm gonna fall. I think it's getting easier the more I do it. I've only been on it 15 or so times. I'm just wondering if it just takes time to get it down. I'd like to stand up and fish. I think I'll figure it out anyway. Just wondering if it's normal?
  25. This is my first year with a kayak and it has been unbelievable. The other day I had probably my most exciting day of fishing in my life. Throwing topwater had a ton of blowups caught a bunch of fish. Missed a bunch too but that's fishing. I have a ride 115 and I've been wondering about standing up. I can do it but not very well. Does it get easier the more you do it? I think I have pretty good balance but it just feels wierd.Just being out on the water is so much better. Best investment I've ever made.
