  1. @gimruis The one "anchored"….😂
  2. @Functional @Choporoz The thumb pressure while reeling can on occasion help if the overrun isn’t overly excessive. Also, a line pick to grab hard to reach loops (Rapala clippers with the hooked pick works for me) can help a bunch. With that being said & frommy experience, there is no magic trick that works 100% of the time & it’s not as if I’m any sort of authority either. Patience is the biggest key followed by finding where the loops are looped within themselves. Gently tugging & finding the place where it’s caught usually leads to a successful detangling. Try not to pull hard, that often just cinches loops down on other loops. Some can just end up being hopeless. Also, line can only take so much abuse (kinks, twists, stretches) before it’s just trashed, braid probably being the exception, but if it comes out, it can often save the day.
  3. @ChrisD46 Looks like the Owner Haymaker fits your description: However, you might also consider taking needle nose pliers & slightly bending the hook point out, similar to what some anglers do with some hollow bodied frogs but that may result in more snagging of vegetation, etc.
  4. Welcome aboard Ryan!
  5. @Bazoo Never tried that before. I typically vary the speed or cadence of the walk the dog retrieve from a fast, fleeing minnow to a wide, almost glide if the bait will allow for the wider glide. I prefer the Lucky Craft Gunfish (95 & 115), Sammy (65 for smallies on spinning gear, 100, 115 & 128) & SK Sexy Dawg but do throw a Spook on occasion.
  6. @Vantage Tackle Welcome aboard. The bait monkey is especially happy you’re here. 🐒
  7. Amen brother. 👍
  8. @Woody B The RV story reminds me of the cousin Eddie scene in Christmas Vacation.
  9. @NorthernBasser I have to admit, I typed that as you know who was filling my TW cart. 🤫
  10. @NorthernBasser can barely make 25 minutes.
  11. ✅ Cheap sunglasses. Been looking all over TW for that Velcro Fly but might have to make a trip out to La Grange. 😎
  12. Used to fish Falcon & loved the Cara Head Turner full grip until I picked up a Dobyns Xtasy 7’5" H & MH fast (both probably underrated on the power). Definitely pricey but one of the most sensitive jig rods I’ve ever used.
  13. @NorthernBasser I’d say @heavyduty is doing/thinking this about now…. Good old Newman😂
  14. @NorthernBasser You gonna be alright without those 5 cranks? 🤣 @Smirak You might want to look up this guy & see if you’re both hittin the same bait shop (click either the top title or small arrow in upper right corner of box - just 1 page back) 😂
  15. @throttleplate I think I did a Google search for Obi Wan movie & found something called the Patterson edit. I won’t swear to it but I thought there were also other fan edits out there. From the little I read, Patterson edited out what they felt was essentially pointless to the story. Since Lucas isn’t directly involved anymore, I wouldn’t get too worked up over it. Probably no different than the updated SW eps 4-6 Lucas released years later (extended versions). Lots of fluff with a few improvements on special effects, nothing I found jaw dropping by any means.
  16. @throttleplate My mistake on length above I just assumed each episode was 1 hr. I have since checked IMDB & the series should have been a bit over 4.5hrs for episodic version in total. I think you watched a fan edited version of some sort. Unsure of what was omitted but knowing Disney, probably nothing overly important. I’m not a hardcore fan by any means but thought you may wish to know.
  17. @thediscochef You do you, by all means. I see all as minnow/baitfish imitations. Maybe offer up something different if possible. Consider the jig & craw (especially around rocks if snagging isn’t an issue) or spinnerbait/chatterbait worked meticulously slower than normal given the severe drop in temps you’ve recently experienced. Vary the spinnerbait/chatterbait retrieves from slow rolling to yo-yo’ing to ripping off bottom (again if snags aren’t issues). Can do those with RES as well. Also slow retrieve swimbaits - paddletail, under spin or choice of weighted rigging or other like a hard swimbait type. Could also consider downsizing & seeing what smaller bottom contact offerings might do (Ned, et. al.). You already know what’s in there, just a matter of running into one. Chances will obviously increase once temps get more favorable. Not wanting to be rude by any means, just brainstorming for ya a bit. They might be feeding on something really small. Hope you stick one soon. I’m still waiting on iceout but should be soon I’m hoping.
  18. I assume no topwater on the baitcaster since you’re going fluoro. Me, I’d go with 10-15lb Tatsu. Higher end test if you’re around thick cover (laydowns/brush, etc.), lower end if more open water. If around rocks, watch for nicks like a hawk.
  19. @Smirak If they were Keitech heads, I might know who’s been buying all of them - and lots of Jackall Drift Frys.😂
  20. @thediscochef I, too, like that you’re keeping a sense of humor about less than desirable results. I try to do the same with anything frustrating in life. If you don’t mind me asking, what have you been trying recently besides the fluke? Bass should be close to prespawn if not there already, regardless of recent temps. Jigs, RES (obviously), jerkbaits & cranks I would think all draw some attention. Might have to really creep things along until some warm rains arrive to help get them more aggressive & in a chasing mood.
  21. @deaknh03 Technically, yes, a miniseries. From my perspective, if it’s streaming & a one-off thing, it’s just dumb to make it in episodes. I’m not going to watch anything streaming one episode/week at a time. Quit doing that with regular TV/cable/satellite when DVRs became a thing.
  22. @12poundbass I think she was "big boned" & probably a bit preggers at the time. She never liked me much. @TnRiver46 swears she’s a DD. 🤣
