  1. Nah, dude. It was the "upon further review" to which I was referring.🤣🤣🤣 But yes, their format & change in tendencies is more than a bit frustrating.🤮 Just saw that Zoom will soon be joining the chatterbait trailer party: Supposedly $4.59 for 5 pack. https://zoombait.com/shimmer-shad/
  2. Sounds to me like you’d make one heck of a NFL ref.
  3. RipzLipz replied to snowplow's topic in Tacklemaking
@Vantage Tackle I’m green with envy. Would love fish an old wooden one & compare to the current version on the market. Some of the well-kept old and/or vintage lures could still catch them today I’d bet. Arbogast would probably do everyone a huge favor by modernizing the hook attachments on models with cleats & upgrading the hooks.
  4. @GreenPig ….and the amount of money spent on one bait or customization. I’m certainly not casting any stones with that comment either. Stupid bait monkey. 😖 @PhishLI I’ve been known to get in a bit of a hurry when changing lures & open a brand new spinnerbait, get the trailer all slid onto the hook nice & straight, make sure it looks good, take a gander at the blades & swivel to make sure they’re in proper working order & when finally done, toss the lure into the water & at the exact moment I let it go I realize I didn’t even tie it onto my freaking line. Bye, nice meeting you for a couple of minutes Mr. Booyah. 😞
  5. (Whispering) From the last sales. Add/replenish trailer supply, a few new lures & a couple prop baits to try out up at Rainy Lake & see if the smaller profile gets more looks. One Mini Max is already tied up with a matching Hog Farmer Spunk Shad trailer (chartreuse & white).
  6. @FishTank Been a decade or two since Turtle Creek was worth driving all the way over to, hasn’t it? Once those scum mats were gone, the bass didn’t seem to last very long or became much more difficult to catch. I miss that mat fishing. 😞
  7. Probably due to TV contracts for other sports. Weekends after around 12 are sports, not fishing tournaments for 8-12 hours. Not saying I agree with it, but not as many folks are going to sit through an entire days worth of tournament fishing compared to 3-4 football or basketball games, college or pro. The network is also hoping to get you interested on the airing in hopes you’ll move to the streaming, as that’s probably much cheaper to "air". Could also be testing to see how many folks move over to streaming in hopes of offering a PPV streaming platform in the future. All about those dollar bills to them.
  8. @AlabamaSpothunter Wolfpacks of pigs bro.
  9. @NorthernBasser We’ve still got minor holidays potentially (given how weird TW was with Xmas this year) & Memorial Day yet & that’s just the first half of the year. I always seem to forget something anyway. 😣
  10. @txchaser Thanks but I don’t trust the new site regarding prices until I see the discount in my cart. They had issues off & on with their mailing list sale.
  11. Bait monkey isn’t making things easy for anyone this spring. TW Sring Sale ongoing - 25% off selected items. Ends in 2 weeks. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-SEASONSALE.html#SPRINGLINKS
  12. @Brett's_daddy Probably not going to see them again. Regional & small lure companies seldom survive when the owner passes unless there is a protege involved or the surviving family members sell the rights or business to someone else. Do a Google search for the brand - some info to be gleaned from other sources. No social media presence in a few years either.
  13. @A-Jay I wasn’t a fan of them quieting their exhausts, starting with the K2 generation. A truck should sound like a truck. If I wanted a quieter vehicle, I wouldn’t shop for a truck. All the manufacturers do stupid stuff but at times, GM leads the pack. Most of their "professional grade" decisions force owners into the dealership to have things done & that gets frustrating for many owners but it puts money in their pockets, which is pretty much all they care about these days. I remember reading an article in an automotive magazine 15-20 years ago detailing how GM envisioned owners basically leasing vehicles & having the dealerships maintain everything (paraphrased). You’re slowly starting to see that concept in how they engineer things. Even a simple headlight bulb change requires removing parts to gain access. I remember not so long ago, you popped the hood, yanked 2 rods, the headlight assembly fell out of the grille & you unscrewed the harness, popped out the bulb, replaced bulb & done. Those days are long gone. Forced obsolescence is everywhere, whether it’s parts going bad or electronics slowing down & becoming unusable. We are a throw away society now. Really ticks me off how we are forced down certain paths as consumers with some things. Truck monkey exists. 🤣
  14. @A-Jay Glad you like the exhaust. The valve is the component you’re describing which allows for the different sounds. I believe this is the 2nd generation of truck in which GM has used it & will be used again in the upcoming generation ~2027. Was necessary when they incorporated the cylinder deactivation as it caused the muffler tuning to sound odd when fewer cylinders were used. The different driving modes will impact fuel economy, of course. See if doors unlock simply by pulling handle twice from the inside . Not useful for the driver usually but nice for the passenger at times. 40k+ miles on my 2019 L87 & zero problems. Keep the oil changed more frequently than the IMO ridiculous 7-8k they recommend & the issues above should not be a huge concern. 100k miles is typically when trade-in book values take the biggest plunge so if I’m able to afford new, I look to trade prior to 80k miles. I also keep an eye on length of powertrain warranties when shopping for new trucks. GM decreased theirs from 100k to 60k miles when the 2014 models (K2 platform) came about & that told me engine durability was more than likely going to decrease. Worked for 2 large tier 1 automotive suppliers since 1991 (wheel manufacturer & exhaust manufacturer) in design & engineering areas.
  15. @casts_by_fly Not disputing cost savings today. What they will do is spread them across multiple streaming platforms so you’re eventually paying the same prices in time. Already happening with NFL. Streaming prices go up about every year or two. Not "everyone" has internet or is able to access high speed internet with speeds capable of streaming. Farmers around here have to pay ridiculous costs for high speed internet because no fiber exists in rural areas. Plus, there are many seniors who aren’t computer literate & have no need for internet. It’s not the same everywhere in the country. I won’t even get into reduced picture quality or other technical aspects like internet goes down, no TV.
  16. Sandhill cranes headed your direction @A-Jay.
  17. My financial advisor, @bait__Monkey, said these were a good investment with a high rate of return. However, he always says such things concerning my "investments". Most are hair or fur rather than marabou, courtesy of Jimmy D’s River Bugs
  18. Welcome aboard Jim!
  19. Wonder if this will end up being yet another subscription needed to watch whatever sport I watch & pulling more games off of OTA TV? I saw a topic on Pardon The Interruption earlier this week where Big 10 & SEC have formed a joint advisory committee. They speculated this is the beginning of the NCAA being told to go pound sand. If so, I could see this new platform jumping the gun in anticipation of that happening.
  20. @AlabamaSpothunter Appreciate it. I feel fine just don’t want it to turn into something worse & end up battling a cold/sinus infection all spring while trying to get out & fish.
  21. @throttleplate Did that lower mouth ever close or did it just hang open all the time in complete mouth breathing & ignorant bewilderment?
  22. Man, that’s tough. Sorry for your loss & heartfelt condolences.
  23. Agreed, as long as the scissors & hair clippers aren’t anywhere near them! 🤣 @gimruis I found the revenge haircut. During the show, Zona was telling the backstory from the video above saying something to the effect of, "on this trip Seth decided it was his turn," and removed his hat to reveal the Feider Special: 🤣🤣🤣
  24. @gimruis I cannot see or hear Feider’s name without being reminded of this happening. FFWD to 3:00 mark: Just note that Feider got his revenge on Zona last season but unfortunately I couldn’t find any images or video of Zona showing off Feider’s skill at haircuts. 🤣
  25. I get a buzz bigger than ol’ Willie Nelson ever had just catching a hard pulling 4-5lber. I’d probably need fresh britches if I caught an 8+, especially if it was a digger like @AlabamaSpothunter’s recent fat gal appeared to be. Those diggers are my favorite, especially at night when it’s low visibility & no clue what it is or how big. Those hard head shakes & you know it’s a good ‘un. A couple of times, I hooked some dandies in the clear waters of the pits & saw them shaking their heads from a distance - was like they were tail walking under water, heads pointed towards the surface. That was special seeing it versus just feeling it. A close second for me would be an acrobatic tail walking LMB, which is why I head north into Canada each year for SMB since most of my catches in IN aren’t breachers. It’s called addiction & I don’t ever wish to recover. 🎣🎣🎣 @Pat Brown is stalking & probably going to get a Nadine this year. Don’t wish to jinx him but I just have a feeling. Going through the jitters now because it won’t be long before the crawdad is slid in the bed of the truck & I'm back out in the hunt. If I wasn’t dealing with a double ear infection, I’d probably already be in the water. Scouting trip for water clarity is probably going to happen tomorrow or Wednesday. Trying to contain my excitement a bit because it’s still 2 months away from typical spawning time & I'm sure the water is a bit chilly yet. Just never know when that big gal is gonna be out feeding……that sound of the fluoro when the hook is solidly set is such sweet music. 😎
