  1. @NorthernBasser I always try, but just by looking, those probably would have been end of the day for me. On occasion I’ve gotten some that look horrid but end up being just 2 loops inside of loops. My oldest son keeps me in good practice these days.
  2. Yeah, that’s Fata$$. She hasn’t been around since last spring.
  3. @deaknh03 A 6 episode miniseries which was on Disney+ in 2022. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8466564/?ref_=ext_shr_lnk
  4. Im not too proud to admit there’s a very good reason I’m half way decent at picking out backlashes & it isn’t because I was born with a magic thumb. The thumb pressure while slowly reeling has saved many a day. However, that one of @NorthernBasser’s & sorry but not sure what else to call it, that first explosion of @MiceNReets would have been cutters for sure for me. Been a long time since I’ve seen condor nests like those.
  5. @12poundbass They know what "jail" is. I woke up many times with one of these in the trap & 6-8 squirrels perched up in the trees, peering down as if asking, “What did you do to get in trouble?"
  6. @TnRiver46 Don’t make her come down & sit on your trap.
  7. Pics from 2nd video of Easy:
  8. Last night the 20% discount was showing up in my cart but I was only getting 10% off of anything I added to my cart. Today it’s working correctly. Strange stuff has been ongoing with their discounts ever since they rolled out the new site.
  9. @Jamesg0418 Those sand roads can be bad if not maintained. Road back to Headwaters/Stick Marsh will probably be horrible until Headwaters cools down from the pressure. Stick Marsh was the hot place down there in the 90’s. The ramps were dirt & after launching, you had to get your launch vehicle & trailer strap towed back up the ramp by a waiting local with a 4X4 who’d charge you $5-$10. Whole area was sand & dirt. No concrete anywhere. They’ve improved it all greatly except for the access roads over the years. Those can be like a washboard if they haven’t been graded recently.
  10. You’re on ‘em for sure, especially if you keep pounding on ‘em through the spawn. That fish looks like she still has some filling out to do in regards to eggs. Might still be a month or more away unless photos are deceiving my eyes. We dipped into single digits & big lake was frozen solid, last report I had. Last 3-4 days have been overcast, drizzling rain but 30s-50s so hoping big lake will thaw. Forecast is calling for mid-50s late next week with low winds. Will probably have to make a scouting trip to make sure lake is thawed. My fingers are crossed. Line will be respooled with fresh fluoro & drags rechecked. Jigs, spinnerbaits, A-rig, jerkbait & RES will be tied on. Fencing was on the south end (away from ramp) & ran across the lake at an angle. I’d be surprised if it was removed but has probably sunk. You take that canal near the ramp (in Kenansville Lake) east & you used to be able to get from there all the way into Stick Marsh/Farm 13 as well as continuing on into Ansin/Garcia. Now it’s a completely ridiculous out of the way drive around to all those lakes. All have giants in them - shiners were best bet but that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Blue Cypress is a big bowl surrounded by cypress tress & Kissimmee grass. I believe it’s a natural lake. Keenansville is an old ranch that was levied & flooded (IIRC). Stick Marsh was an old orange farm, Farm 13 was old radish farm. Both were levied & flooded. Can remember watching them build the levies from Big M canal. Interesting how that area has changed over the years. Used to be able to pick wild yellow grapefruits off the banks of the canals. Lots of gators & nature to see for sure. Giant panfish in those lakes too.
  11. @Pat Brown Nice red lipped beauty bud. About time for a DD, I’m thinking. 👍 @Jamesg0418 Been a looooong time since I was last at Keenansville - back when you could get there from Blue Cypress via Big M canal. Used to be full of barbed wire fencing. Nice pig.
  12. @ATA My condolences to you & your buddy’s family.
  13. Didn’t wish to flood the Photo A Day thread, so made this one since I had a montage of sorts from videos I took recently while feeding some of my backyard buds. Yesterday Kevin & 3 others appeared all at once but was only able to grab a short video of Kevin coming down to get a snack, in all his glory, with commentary: Coming down! I see what you have there for me. Have to be careful, tree is wet. Yes, that one, please. Excuse the crumb on my nose. Aren’t I cute when I look right at you? Back up to my spot. I can’t be too trusting of you, hu-man. Almost there. Nom nom nom nom! Today, around 10A, I glanced out back & noticed a squirrel perched in the "feeding tree" just glaring at the back door. I walked into the kitchen & it raced up onto the deck, jumped up onto the bench swing & finally onto the deck hand rail. He was very excited & began looking into the kitchen window. I grabbed some peanuts & went out back & there was Easy, trying to remain as calm as possible but not doing a good job of it. I handed him a couple, 1 which was eaten, the other taken to his secret burial location off of our property. Didn’t see him for 10-15 minutes so I went back inside only to see him reappear about 45 minutes later, eating up in the tree. I went back outside & was able to get a couple of videos of him chowing down, as follows, with commentary of possible thoughts running through his mind. Is that really you? Yes, it is you hu-man. I’m coming, don’t move. Don’t wish to make this easy, as something might murder me while I’m coming down. Here I am! Fooled you hu-man! Still got the goods, right? Score! Thanks man! After taking the peanut above, Easy went to the left, sitting on a limb just above my head, tearing into the peanut. When he was done, I took another video but I’m getting some errors posting the photos. Will try to post more later.
  14. @Bass Rutten The link to sign up is one & the same (mailing list/newsletter). I also signed up prior to deadline, received zero emails. Earlier today, I started a chat support session & the associate sent me a link which activated the sale in my cart.
  15. @Glenn Berkley still sells the original, without line stripper, FWIW. https://www.berkley-fishing.com/portable-spooling-station-1285958
  16. @LakeWinni How it lays on the reel after a "professional" spooling matters very little once you’ve made a few casts & retrieved a lure. At that point, the line lays how the reel lays it on its own. ~$30 one time fee & used to come with a line stripper. Adjustable tension, can do spinning reels & move spool 90° from as pictured (although you have to "reel backerds" since reel is mounted upside down), built in line cutter & can last for decades if care is taken & fits Seaguar 1000yd spools:
  17. New website is still sketchy - was browsing by bait type & found some brands were missing from the results. Now they have a nag popping up on the right side of the screen for the mailing list sale - can’t dismiss it either. Dummies in charge of the "improved" website now, apparently. 😒
  18. I mainly throw 1/2oz Booyah Blade single Colorado in chartreuse & white, all chartreuse or all white with Zoom Split Tail trailer during the day; 3/4oz Booyah Moontalker in black with black nickel blade & black Zoom Spilt Tail or SK Rage Menace in MM Moonlight or South African Special trailer. I reinforce all rubber skirt bands with wire from twist ties (place in ashtray & burn off coating/paper); loop twice then 4-5 twists, clip & fold towards hook so not to catch vegetation. On occasion a 1/2oz Revenge Bluegill single or double Colorado with 4.3 Keitech Swing Impact FAT in ayu, electric bluegill or sungill trailer. Considering some Greenfish Tackle High Class Blade double Colorados:
  19. @Catt Going to try those Picassos this year as well - similar principle to the Sally but the interchangeable heads make for some interesting combos, especially with the skirtless version with a paddletail trailer and/or under spin head.
  20. Picasso All-Terrain Weedless Inline (jig is interchangeable with split ring): Picasso Weedless Smartmouth Inline (jig head is interchangeable with split ring): Hildebrandt Snagless Sally:
  21. $16 a pop with a VMC hook? Nah. The lack of volume control while pitching isn’t helping any either. Jeez.
  22. @throttleplate in his garage this weekend 😂 J/k dude - glad you found a renewed interest in the series.
  23. @Jmurphy87 I wouldn’t kid so much if I didn’t already have monkey bite scars all over my body.😂
  24. @Jmurphy87 You’re going to need a zoo for all the monkeys you’re attracting! 🤣
  25. @NorthernBasser You posted it, don’t ask me. I thought we’d get access to your tackle warehouse?😉
