  1. After reading this I dug out a CU-201 Greenie and spooled it up- other than the huge size it feels great! Mint condition and smooth... Going to see how it does againest salmon tomorrow........
  2. Any updates on this line? Love the Fireline Ultra 8 as a good floating line but looking to try something new.
  3. Any reel world experience using one of these? Bait monkey is calling me out and thought i may give one a try for winter steel head. Either tossing 1/2 oz float or 2/5 oz spoons. Any feed back from folks that have had one out?
  4. Do some research before ordering from these guys- hundreds of complaints for various issues- mostly taking 6 months to deliver and zero communication. My experience as well....... Worst I have ever been treated by ANY business and more than once.
  5. For trout I have the president, ballistic, ci4, fk , tatula lt, luvias and a Nasci. Like them all but my favorite is the fk paired with a loomis tsr 901. The fk is also my favorite for salmon/steelhead. Cant go wrong with any of them.............
  6. Very stiff to start but breaks in well and is the best line I have found at not getting wrapped around the rod tip.
  7. Reel- $50 if excellent, rod is worthless
  8. Great product manufactured and sold by a kind gentleman who is also very helpful. Highly recommended- I have installed kits on at least a dozen reels............
  9. After you have "acquired" maybe a dozen rods the need to throw away $70 for a good rod rack becomes easier.........
  10. Its starts with one and some initial frustration. Next thing ya know you will be ordering your 3rd rod rack..............
  11. or you can send that $30 to russia and get a drag clicker for that hot rod!
  12. G Loomis - I have tried dozens of rods the last 7 years and now own nearly all Loomis for salmon & steel head. Just my 2 cents as there are certainly cheaper rods out there but once I tried a higher end rod there was no going back....
  13. I had 5 tatulas and the type r was definitely the geary reel of the group and the first to go. Within hours of selling 3 of the originals I ordered another ct, elite and still have an sv. Great reels!
  14. That once you get the hang it you will become obsessed with owning many more..........
  15. Semi new to bass fishing and "The Frog". Huge lake with bass nearby and tired of waiting for salmon/steelhead season. I have an older lamiglas excel that is ok but looking to buy another rod more suited for soft bodied frogs. Dobyns Fury fr 735? Gave it a try this evening- Chronarch MGL with 30# ultra 8 casts like a dream. Zillion HD with PP 50# cast like a turd.
  16. I use 8# Fireline Ultra 8 on a Tatula CT with no problems.
  17. I did add a shim under the shaft bearing and it is much better...
  18. I have both reels and really do not notice much difference between them. I have sent several stradics back for repairs in the past.....
  19. No kidding! I made a video of it but not sure how to put it here.
  20. Agreed! Just looking for a way to eliminate it.
  21. Negative. They all do very slightly but none as bad as the Tatula. Mounting on a rod is no different then holding in hand.....
  22. I have had more than a handful of tatula's and love them except for the drive shaft rattle. If I pull on the drag star they rattle and when reeling in fast it can also be felt. Just received the new Elite and quite disappointed when it also has the same problem. Very pronounced if i shake the reel. And no the spool is not loose. I believe it comes from a loose drive shaft. Anyone have a remedy?
  23. When the negative reviews outnumber the positive it is more than a problem.........................
  24. Just an update since they burned me numerous times starting 2 years ago when they told me they were understaffed and still have not changed. Check out the last 2 months of complaints on their FB page. I cannot believe that anyone would order from them again.....
  25. I guess I should have specified- Looking for a low profile casting reel.
