  1. Get yourself a Daiwa Morethan PE and you will never go back to those big round turds?
  2. Good luck with receiving your order from Edge- Terrible company to deal with and I will never do business with them again- I cancelled my last rod order after waiting 5 months and hearing a variety of excuses........
  3. Sold them both! The calcutta sure is a sweet reel but I found that I prefer low profile reels. After trying way to many rods I found my favorite to be a Loomis koke trolling rod- Kinda odd but works great for throwing a bubble and fly for trout. Kuying Teton is a great rod for smaller trout and crappie.
  4. Ain't nothing like a 20# salmon pulling hard and the sound of the screaming drag or a steelhead doing cart wheels on the surface and racing all over the river.......... Those bass are just like reeling in a wash cloth covered with 5# of weeds?
  5. Ratcheting tie down strap on the handles- rubber coated twist tie to secure them- Works great for 4 9' 6" + steelhead rods. Current fishing vehicle is an older Jeep cherokee which did not have anything towards the back so I removed headliner & installed some eye bolts to secure the strap to.
  6. I have both and would have to give the nod to the Stradic- It might be me imagining things but I seem to notice some flexing in the Tatula and it just feels "plasticky" to me.
  7. Solid & smooth as silk- the side plate sucks but great reel!
  8. Try the Fireline Ultra 8- Best line i have found for bigger fish ( salmon & steel head) I have a few reels with 100+ days on the water.
  9. Daiwmano Just when I think I will go 100% daiwa the other guy comes out with something great like the bantam.
  10. Boomerang= for $12 you can get a few seasons out of them. I also have the gerber neat freak which cuts very nicely but the tips are huge.
  11. Both great reels but my chronarch mgl went geary way to fast............. Never had a tat go geary even after 50+ salmon/steelhead
  12. I have one that I use on my steelhead spoon rod- Amazingly Smooth and solid- more so than any reel i own. After using another reel then picking up the Morethan it just feels very refined and like a piece of fine machinery. When casting I have had to look at the spool as you do not even feel line coming off. It does seem a bit over braked compared to some others but the level of smooth is amazing. Would I buy another? No- I bought it when they were fairly new and paid $421. The Bantam is not far off...
  13. Great steelhead/salmon rods- Worst service of any business I have EVER experienced. I own 4 but will never buy from them again. Order now and you MAY get it by christmas and you will get zero response to any email or voicemail. BBB gives them an "F" rating..............
  14. If you have to ask.................
  15. Gotta tweek something to put out a "new" model for all of us suckers!
  16. $150-$800 Regardless of price I want the right tool for the job and not just one that will "work" Once I hit 50 years old I figured I deserve it.
  17. Ok confession time- How many have dunked their reel at some point in their life to quiet some sound or gritty feeling?
  18. ok you guys have made up my mind- I must have one. Where am i going to find them on sale?
  19. I have tried to many trout sticks to count and by far my favorite is the Loomis TSR901. I just had a 9' 901 blank made into a trout bobber/jig rod and the jury is still out on that one. Paired with a stradic the TSR901 is a fantastic setup for throwing spinners and spoons for big trout.
  20. Its kind of like pot- Most have done it but few will admit to it!!
  21. So many Ive lost count! I think like many I started inexpensive and worked my way up to the point of being extremely anal. Worst decision so far was to have a rod custom made going way over board and discovering it is way to long and heavy for any use at the moment. Making matters worse it is the most expensive rod I have ever purchased...........
