Shimano Stradic CI4+ or Diawa Ballistic lt
I also own all 3 and have had stradics for years. It seems like every year or 2 I end up sending one in for repairs and they just send a new one so I can never really be rid of them. I really love the Tat but have only the smallest version on a trout stick. If I ever need another spinning reel I would go with a larger version of the Tat.

Edge rods by Gary Loomis - thoughts?
The 50% off msrp "sale" is their regular price- cheap marketing ploy to look like you are getting a deal. As mentioned there are to many other great rod companies out there with honest, customer service - After multiple issues with edge i am done. Good luck.......

Not much love for Tatula LT?
Fished the smallest model hard this summer and no complaints or issues. Every bit as capable as the stradics that I also use.

Got a new nice baitcaster. I hate it.
Stick with it and try another reel- My first bc was a revo stx and i never did figure that thing out and finally sold it. Being frustrated I read everything I could get my hands on and after reading the TT reviews on the Daiwa Tatula I decided to give it a try. Bingo -it all became crystal clear and got so easy that i now have 20+ bc reels and enjoy them for most situations. Kinda wish i still had that reel because in the back of my mind i always wonder if it was me or the reel...........

Bantam MGL Reviews?
I read TT every night! Great write ups but always positive reviews and ratings of every reel. Nothing is ever rated worse than "good". Real world use by regular fisherman are more interesting reads along with the opinions of some........

Bantam MGL Reviews?
Now that this reel has been out for awhile I would like to hear some first hand reviews and opinions. Mine is still waiting for some rain to fall and bring salmon up into the rivers. In the few times it has been out I am very impressed as the reel feels solid and is liquid smooth. Opinions of others that have many hours on the bantam mgl?

Edge rods by Gary Loomis - thoughts?
Awesome rods- customer service is terrible. Ordered one in july with scheduled time of 3-5 weeks after 8 weeks and 3 different answers I cancelled and got a refund. Previous issues with a return which i finally was able to return in person. They are swamped and will gladly tell you how busy they are. Many, many of same complaints from others on FB. I have 4 and they are my favorite rods for steelhead/salmon but would never order from them again but will buy more at the next big show if they have them in hand.

"Geary" Chronarch MGL
I removed the entire drag clicker and it did seem to be smoother- perhaps the weight of the kit had some affect? I give up! On its way across the country..............

"Geary" Chronarch MGL
I have altered the drag stack when i added the spool clicker kit from Oleg. I did not notice it at the time but today I will remove it and replace with the original internals to see if that was it. I have not used the reel since winter steelhead season ended in march so dont recall it feeling so rough 6 months ago. I do have 2 other micro module reels- calcutta conquest bfs and the bantam mgl and they are both liquid smooth.

$40 Abu Garcia UltraMax at Dick's
Only a matter of time before that $40 reel is replaced by a $400 dollar reel and then next thing you know you have 20 of them................

"Geary" Chronarch MGL
Purchased this thing last year and really enjoyed it but now it feels quite "geary"- Not sure if it always felt this way or i have just become extremely critical lately- I have 15+ other casting reels and none of them feel like this. I can actually feel the fine teeth and even hear them upon retrieval. I have torn it down twice and cleaned the heck out of it before relubing. Added the spool clicker last winter but quite sure that has nothing to do with it. When the spool is out the reel is smooth as silk but not so when it is in. Have I lost my mind?

Nicest combo out there
- Fireline Ultra 8
I have 8# on Spinning and casting reels with no issues but one birds nest and i am screwed!- Breaking Rods, How many per year do you?
average one per year but fish 75+ days a year with nearly half being in the dead of winter, crawling, climbing, slipping and falling along the banks of muddy rivers. Loomis has a great policy- 1 phone call and new rod delivered in 2 days.- Mono Diameter - Steelhead Fishing
No more mono for me while steel head fishing- to many obstructions and obstacles for them to wrap up in so Fireline Ultra 8 is all I will use from here on out........- Mono Diameter - Steelhead Fishing
I also use the Seaguar STS with no issues other then the occasional fish going nuts and getting caught up in a mid river grass/brush/rock clump and breaking off. I can see using 8# in wide open waters with nothing to get caught on.- Mono Diameter - Steelhead Fishing
Yup, got into float fishing this winter and 20# fireline ultra with 10# mono leader was the ticket- Going to up the leader to 15# next year.- Mono Diameter - Steelhead Fishing
problem solved- Fireline Ultra 8. Bye bye to any mono over 8#- Seeking great baitcasting reel for spoon fishing salmon/steelhead
The chronarch mgl has worked out great although it is very geary or as some call it "connected". I Can definitely feel and hear the gears coming together. I do not feel this at all in the new Bantam Mgl or the calcutta conquest that i have which also have the micro module gears. I added the spool clicker and it is ready for more winter action.- Fireline Ultra 8
Zero. Used 20# on both spinning and casting all last winter for steel head. Hooked 60+ fish with zero issues except for the occasional bird nest from hooking into the brush behind me on the back cast............- Fireline Ultra 8
No tip wrap, no fraying, no fading. Good riddance power pro! - Fireline Ultra 8
