  1. The spiderwire braid doesn't have any stretch, watch your fingers when setting the hook that stuff will cut your hand and fingers real good.
  2. Rods: Quantum, 3 signature series and 1 tour edition pt Reels: Quantum Line: Braid-Power Pro Fluoro: Seaguar Mono: Big Game Plastics: Zoom Cranks: Bandit, Lucky Craft, Bagley Hooks: Gamakatzu Spinnerbait: War Eagle Jigs: Eakins
  3. Bass minnows? Isn't that illegal? I would suggest slowing down, and fishing baits such as senkos and fat ika's which Roadwarrior will explain better.
  4. Is that another fish to the upper right of the dead one on the left looking for a bite? ;D
  5. Looks like a bionic minnow. Although it might catch fish, there are better swimbaits out there such as Matt lures swimbaits. Here is a link to more swimbaits, be careful with the Storm alot of negativity has came with them. http://www.***.com/swimbaits.html
  6. Dang LBH, how much you think it weighs lol. Since it's a mount I tried to measure it and got roughly 22.5". I don't know if the mounts shrink or not, it's not a replica. I couldn't get a string around it for girth the way it's mounted.
  7. Here is one I caught when I was 5 with a worm and bobber out of a farm pond. Could barely hold the fish. The fish is on my wall and the identification says the fish weighed 6.8, but I am not sure how accurate that is.
  8. Move to much, I need to slow down and concentrate on only a section of the lake and milk it out better.
  9. Ya, I seen it. It's Perry's page 20 June issue.
  10. BAM

I nominate that the BAM official song is Brad Paisley's "I'm Going to Miss Her"
  11. I would say that they usually don't represent a season pattern, but they can at times. With farm ponds the fish will sometimes be unpressured and "stupid" which they then bite anything. Other times the pond will be low on forage so the fish again will eat anything. The last factor I can think of is water depth, with lower water levels you can present nearly every lure to the fish you want.

Welcome, you will find there are a number of Kansas anglers on board including myslef. Where are you from, I live in central Kansas?
  13. 1) Have a map of the lake if you don't know it very well 2) I would like to mention fishinaz's water again, I have seen alot of people drinking only soda which further dehydrates your body. 3) Jumper Cables (Right Chip ) 4) Spare Hat, in case one blows away 5) Another thing is face protection, especially in wet conditions. I was stupid enough to hold off buying a Fish Hedz till last week, but hitting a bird at 60 mph w/o protection will hurt. 6) Extra C02 catridge or spare life jacket if you wear sospenders. Also know how to deflate them, you push on the top of the manual blow up tube (Right Chip) 7) Throw Cushion 8) Fire Extinguisher 9) Flare gun 10) Pliers
  14. I use my pointer finger to feel the line, and have done it plenty of times. It hurts like nothing else, in fact I still got a little cut that's healing. Like Avid, I also got cuts from pulling the line tight. My best advice is to put a little superglue on the wound, works great! That is after you land the fish.
  15. No, it's thanks to you that we are able to go fishing and talk to each other on these boards!
  16. Lets see.... 1) Knowing Bass The Scientific Aproach to Catching More Fish (something like that) 2) Bass Boss 3) Jay Yelas's book 4)Winning Secrets of BASS Pro's 5)Fishing on the Edge

Me to, fish the Federation events.
  18. Yep, it is basically a downsized carolina rig. I usually rig my bait 12-16" from the weight, so not as far as a carolina rig. It is a finnesse presentation so I like to lift it up so the lure will get off the bottom then just let it sink, and let it sit. If they don't like that then I will try dragging it. Real subtle bite, and be patient.
  19. I got a Bagley B2 crankbait, I think thats what they call it. I was fishing with it when the back side hit a rock on a cast pushing the hook into the side of the crankbait. Can I put some epoxy or superglue on the open wound to try and keep moisture out and last a little longer, even if the action is altered some?
  20. My favorite would have to be a small crawdad.
  21. I got a friend that learned the hard way, he is a quite a bit older than me, but never wore sun screen as a kid. Now his face is almost always red, and sometimes it will turn into a dark purple. He went to the doctor, and fortunately there wasn't any cancer, but just been in the sun long enough.
  22. I also go with bull frog, it goes on and seems to dry pretty fast without leaving the oily feeling that others will.

I go for numbers over 15". Most length limits in tournaments I have fished are 15" so thats what I shoot for.
