  1. Glad I could help, congrats
  2. I'm really liking mine, another one due in tomorrow !
  3. Congrats! You bought an outstanding rod.
  4. J are you familiar with Kipawa T motor props?
  5. Dobyns must be a good rod builder. A lot of you guys on this forum use them. I've never seen one.
  6. You have a chance to buy a new Lews Team Rod for eighty bucks. It's a gift for your father, right? Buy the Lews. He'll be astounded and grateful.
  7. Buy this rod before they're gone. 1/4oz jig with 1/8oz trailer will be fine. Lew's Team Lews HM85 Million Graphite 7' MH Spinning Rod TL70MHFS Length: 7'0" | Line: 8lb-14lb | Lure: 3/8oz-3/4oz | Power: Medium Heavy | Action: Fast | MPN: TL70MHFS
  8. SJ, Post a few pics of your rod if you can.. It will give Dan an opportunity to see the rod up close.
  9. Up til now I don't have a problem adjusting my baits. It gives me the opportunity to check my line. I'm not tournament fishing any more. Maybe if I were I'd use the super glue. As far as the Baits go I'm good with my decision.
  10. This is my water ride these days. The outrigger I made for it allows me to stand with absolute confidence and cast all day. I installed an anchor system that keeps me planted. I mounted a couple Ram mounts for my 5xHDI and iphone with map app. I run with two batteries so I'm good for a full day without worry and they balance weight distribution.. Rod holder is attached to the trolling motor mount. Top speed with the endura Max 55 is 4 mph.
  11. Johnson Creek is a good name. Used Custom Rods as a tag line.
  12. I'm right handed so naturally I cast right handed and reel with my left hand. Make sense to me and I feel more natural working the rod and bait with my strong side. I never could make sense of guys casting right then switching hands so they could reel with the right hand. I supposed I'm wired differently. It must be me.
  13. I recently bought a 6'6" MM and I'm waiting on a 7' MHM to arrive. Between the two rods I should be good to go. You may want to reconsider the F action.
  14. For Jigs I like a heavier rod. At the price we're getting them for I say buy two. One of each. I called and asked if they could look to see if they had a 7" MHM left in stock since the site showed them as sold out. As luck would have it they had two. Ask for Adam or Brian if you call. They know what's going on with inventory.
  15. Most of the goods produced over seas that we buy are made by American owned companies. Buy what you like. Supporting the forum sponsor's was a good point made by Catt.
  16. I spoke to a person at Kipawa that said he would take it back if I wasn't satisfied with the performance. He was quite clear in his opinion my motor would not vibrate like it does now with the WW 2. I ordered it. Should be here Saturday.
  17. My 5x HDI was shutting off on its own every time out. I sent it back to Lowrance. They received it Tuesday. I got an email from them today. They are sending me a new one. Can't ask for more than that!
  18. I never throw jigs with light or medium rods.
  19. Not the funniest but worth posting: I was at a gas station in Killingly, Ct. today. A guy came storming out the door of the store yelling and yakking about a sign that was hung out front that said We Take EBT Cards. He was beatching because they no longer take them? but the sign was still up? I LMAO.. Wonder why that freeloader was in a rural town in Ct?
  20. I tried the Elaztech Critters I didn't like them. As soon as they get wet the don't hold well on the hook. I'm not into taking super glue fishing with me. Plus, why bother with a bait that's a pain in the neck, to many good baits out there that aren't a hassle. I wish you good luck with them though.
  21. I'm about ready for an eye exam. Contacts have been on my mind. I'm sick of wearing glasses. I need progressive eye bra's.
