  1. I'll check that next time.... Well....I really have no preference either way. Im just curious if this is how the original flavor Megastrike is supposed to be - unscented....orrr, do I have a defective product? Ahh, the Placebo effect.
  2. Is it normal for Megastrike original to have no detectable scent. I don't smell anything.

Ah, yes indeed. Good to know. Im very pleased with them, and at this price, I will be stocking up on them any chance I can find them.
  4. Walmart was carrying a 4" skirted twin tailed grub made by YUM. For under $2/pk. The bait itself functions nicely and does everything its supposed to do. Great deal.

For the folks who like to use a twin-tailed grub. WHat are your thoughts about this Bad Jamma from YUM, for its use as chunky twin tail grub?
  6. I went looking for a topwater rod once. But I couldn't find one that floats.
  7. Outdoor Angler Spinning reel 30 $14 at Wal-Mart It's practically a Pflueger Pres knock-off with no real absence in quality. I've been putting one through the paces this year and am very pleased with it. Seriously incredible value.
  8. Pumpkin Spiced Swimbaits.
  9. When selecting a square bill, what general qualities and attributes do you look for in this type of crankbait?
  10. Keitech paddle tail baits. I haven't had anything much slower than those.
  11. Sweet!! Saw a heron eating a snake once.
  12. In your opinion, what do you suppose would be the swim jig trailers that can operate at the slowest retrieve speeds? Slower than all others. (Not including Kalins lunker grubs, because I know I can run those things slower than snail snot.)
  13. Honestly, those birds come to where I am fishing. Them and the Green Herons. They'll come land by me and give me that look, as if to say, "Hey buddy, you getting anything?"
  14. Tail slapper in sprayed grass color
  15. Yeah, this article is definitely accurate. And honestly, this is what Ive typically come to expect by mid July. But, it most certainly is the case by September. With temps still in the `90s and fishing pressure still pretty high, I expect the chances of catch rates for numbers or quality to both be relatively low. Depending on the circumstances. But I have a secret technique that I use to help beat "the blah days" to make them more enjoyable and less frustrating. The first thing that I do during these times is......wait for it..........I stop fishing. I hang up my rods, and put my gear away(~GASP~). Then, I go spend my time, doing other things that I enjoy. Oh I may go back out once in a while, just to doddle around a bit, but to be honest, Im just not entirely interested in putting forth a great deal of effort during less productive conditions. Im ok with this, because overall, I know well enough, that I wont be missing out on much. Besides, I caught my last 5lber back in August so, Im content with that. I'll see them again in the fall.
  16. I use a 3/0 EWG. Been very reliable. I once even used a 1/0 straight shank worm hook, just because I had forgotten to bring more EWGs after I lost one to a hangup. Had to slit the side of the bait to allow for hookset with such a small hook, but it still brought home the bacon.
  17. Fat Ika/T-rig craw. Since June, the Ika has caught me 11 fish over 3.5lbs. Among them, 4 were 4lbs+, and 2 were 5lbs+. Additional Honorable mention goes to the T-rig Zoom Super Speed Craw, which brought in 3 additional 4lbers, and one 6lb+
  18. What are some of your preferred colors for bladed jigs, during pre spawn?
  19. Im starting to wonder if there is an issue with BPS quality control.
  20. Heron replied to dday07's topic in Fishing Tackle
Nope, Im same as you. Watermelon and Green pumpkin. Just pulled a 5lber with the green pumpkin last week.
  21. Pfffttt....The 3" Senko works everyday, any day, any time, in all waters, under all conditions. Ive even used that little sucker at night. If an alternative stick worm cannot match that kind of consistency, then Im not interested.
  22. Well, they were T-rigged. That's the only way I fish them. Good to know. I will keep those options open.
  23. Pffttt....Fish whatever actually works.
