I was thinking same thing, maybe J.C. Customs. Might run into some kind of copyrights with the name Johnson's (i.e.Big Johnson, was a thing back in the 90's for you younger guys).

It goes back to what the fish are "wanting". Some folks have the exact same lure just in different sizes and/or colors and once you change it from one to the other it will turn the fish bite on. For me, I start on top water in the mornings or evenings like already said. I use a couple of different top waters after probably about 5 casts. Popper, spook, fluke, then go to a smaller popper, smaller spook, etc. Of course you always have a top water lure ready during the day just in case you see one hit up on the top. Generally I will use a fluke especially if I am near any weeds.

Man three weeks of waiting and I got skunked Saturday. Had only one good hit pitching a jig in the weeds, that was a first for me, so that was cool. A lot of other fishermen where saying they had a hard time fishing too. Water temp around 70+. Carp where hitting up on top too, if you like carp. Baits used: Jigs Square crank Lipless crank Other various cranks Lizards Worms Buzz Spinners Spoons Flukes

There's an app called Pure Gas (saw it from another post on this site), its free and it will give you the closest location for ethanol free gas stations. Plus do all the other things mentioned, I always use Stabil for everything, they even make a Marine Stabil too.

So had some time to practice today. Tried the reel handle up starting out then noticed I was just casting straight on(handle on the side). Was doing OK as long as it was within 50ft. Tried a pitch and flip a little, well I might want to come back to that another year...lol. I will give it a go next time I go fishing, if it don't work out I will post the coordinates for a free baitcaster after it goes in the lake. Lmao
