  1. I posted this here to get info not to sell. How much can these sell for in almost new condition? the regular 201b's and 201 bsf. What are they worth?
  2. I have this exact rod paired with a curado. It works fine for me. I won't say it's super light, but I don't find it uncomfortable either. The extremes and carbon lites are a decent value when on sale.
  3. The medium spinning rod will suit you well for bass. i use an avid and an ltb in medium for spinning set ups and they are great
  4. They are a lot lighter than they were before. I avoided the mojo in past because I felt that they were on the heavy side. Looks like they fixed that.
  5. I have a couple of 201d' s and I like them. They cast well, are smooth, easy to break down and look nice. They only downside to them is that there is no break access. I have mine set at two and I've forgotten them. It's still nice to have at the price they sell for.
  6. 7 medium fast or medium heavy fast. IF.....I only had one I would look for a rod rated for 1/4 to 3/4 ounces and a fast action. There are a lot of good brands reccomended here. I personally like bps brand for cheaper rods in that price range like the carbon lite, extreme etc. but that's just an opinion and what I'm comfortable with. It's up to you to find what works for you.
  7. For me after a couple of decades of buying all types of stuff. If I lost it all, I'd restart a few curados, a calcutta and an assortment of at croix Avids. Maybe five combos or so.
  8. The most versatile would be the 7 ft medium fast by a long shot. It's labeled as plastics but does most anything you'd need to do with it aside from flipping and deep crankbait fishing. It's stout enough for jigs and triggs and soft enough for trebles.
  9. Ive had the 6 1/2 and 7 ft mhf models and I loved them. They were very stout and powerful for fishing cover. The 6 1/2 footer was my fav. I personally thought the 7 footer was a little tip heavy, but all in all is say they are fantastic rods and sure you'll be happy with them.
  10. A nice spinning setup would be a nice addition. light lines and small baits will catch you a lot of bass, especially in the colder months. Otherwise... A good flipping setup is another way to go. If you choose right it can double as a frog setup.
  11. The above post hit the nail on the head. All of those reels will do well for you. I'm personally partial to the curados and citicas for that price and they should last you a long long while.
  12. A lot of great rods were mentioned above. As an added suggestion... The bps carbonlites and Jm signatures are other options to consider in that price range. I bought them on sale as back ups and find them to be sensitive and under the 150 dollar mark. I own both and they are as sensitive as some of my other more expensive rods.
  13. It really just depends on what you are more comfortable with. I am right handed and I prefer lefty reels most of the time. though I do use right handed reels some of the time and find it helps me with fatigue after a long day
  14. I use a 6 1/2 med fast and I like it. It is a good value for the money
  15. I own a couple of 200ds and I absolutely love them for almost any technique. There is no break access, but I set mine on two breaks and I've never needed to adjust them. They cast well and are very powerful for their size. I like the silver color and the minimalist design. They are very easy to break down and clean as well. Some people have criticized them for the break access, but I've never cared. Good reels.
  16. Thank guys. It's was a great find and I can't wait to fish it! My 200 d is 25 ipt and I use it for multiple techniques. I love the round reels. I appreciate the info!
  17. 7 ft Med fast at croix avid on a curado I . I use it to throw Texas rigged worms, senkos and fat ikas in which I throw year round down here. My favorite combo.
  18. Does anyone know the retreive rate in inches per turn on one of these? I came acrossed a new one for free. But they are discontinued and I can't seem to find any info.
  19. For 3/8 ounce jigs I'd use the 71 mhf. I like st croix but feel like they are slightly tip heavy for my liking. The quality is top notch though and they are fair with their warranty.
  20. There are many options for your price range. I'd consider lews as an nice option. Otherwise i would hunt down a used curado / Citica. Those are my opinions and what I personally have experience with. There are a lot of decent reels out there.
  21. I own the avid and the ltb version of that rod and if will do well fishing worms/ jigs/ bigger spinnerbaits and I love to use mine fishing fat ikas and senkos. It is a great rod to fish cover with, flipping aside.
  22. I've always went with light colors during brighter days, darker colors during cloudy days and black during twilight. I've done well with this. But it could be just confidence/ placebo effect. There have been times where it didn't matter. I was getting blown up on one day and a my knot gave way. Lost the frog and tied on a different color only to be exploded I again.
  23. If I weren't going to spend the extra thirty for a curado... The tatula and citica are good.
