  1. Thank you! So how do you all find the various sizes work? Is one in particular better for walking the dog or do all sizes work?
  2. Ah crap. Found the specs here: https://japantackle.com/casting-reels/reg0000356.html
  3. Any south Florida people agree that craw style baits seem less effective than beaver style baits?
  4. I wouldn’t imagine this would work well for bank fishing small ponds, right?
  5. Thank you! So 2 more questions. 1) would this work with a non bfs baitcaster? Something that works for weightless senkos and flukes? 2) how well would this work for bank anglers?
  6. Really interesting. So you wind and move the rod tip up and down to get it to walk. I wonder how hard it is to get the hang of. Anyone tried it?
  7. Thanks! How much bigger do you think the steez a2 is compared to the ct? And I’m assuming the a2 is shorter than the met?
  8. I was going to say Berkeley chigger craw in my OP but I wasn’t sure if they were still sold. They’re definitely a good one too! It’s funny, I find craw style baits much less effective in south Florida than they were up in northern states. Whether that be as a jig trailer or on a Texas rig, beavers like the d bomb and sweet beaver get so many more bites than craw style baits. I thought it was just a factor at my local fishing spots but seeing your comment I’m now wondering if it’s a Florida thing.
  9. Specifically talking about jigs worked on the bottom. Not talking about swim jigs or bladed jigs etc. I’m really curious to see what’s popular. My favorites are the rage craw and the d bomb.
  10. So you feel the met frame is too big? I’ve never held one, but they do look quite long. Have you ever held the steez a/a2 or a steez with that frame? How do you like that?
  11. What about something like a Horny toad? You can work it on top and let it sink in holes in the weed mats.
  12. Just curious, what don’t you like about the metanium frame?
  13. What makes a reel good for frogs?
  14. I’m very confused. If anyone doesn’t want theirs I’ll gladly take them.
  15. Wait really? Whopper ploppers aren’t considered good baits?
  16. This one looks just like the belly of a baby painted turtle.
  17. From that thumbnail, I don’t see how that would punch through cover easier than a pegged Texas rig. The line tie sticking out looks like it would easily hang up. Never tried it myself, so obviously I’m just going off of looks.
  18. Ok thanks. I think I’ll do black/blue, bama craw and okeechobee craw to start.
  19. @Catt So I’m thinking I’ll get some grass jigs in various colors and weights. I’m trying to decide what weights I should start with. 1/2oz of course but as far as heavier weights, can I stick with 1oz and skip 3/4oz for now? Or is it important to have all 3 weights?
  20. Pretty much this. Rarely use a trailer on a spinnerbait but chatterbaits always have one.
  21. This is something I want to learn more about. What is the reason to use a Tokyo rig over a Texas rig and vice versa?
  22. I definitely will. Never really thought about that. Good point. So I should probably just get a few in 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and 1oz in a couple different colors and experiment with them.
  23. Wow. That really puts things into perspective. Thanks for posting that.
