Lookin for a rod to handle grass jig fishing duties/light frogging
@Columbia Craw I’m a little bit late, but can you explain why? Also how does the sensitivity between the extreme and xtasy compare?

Have you ever tried a daiwa steez ags? If so, how does it compare to the xtasy?

Shimano Expride B
Thank you. I have a champion extreme and I’m considering getting a couple more so that’s really what I wanted to know. I have a soft spot for the expride b and was wondering if I would be better of buying them instead. The only problem I have is they don’t have all the sizes/actions I’m interested in.

Best lures bass
This. A zoom ultravibe speed worm Texas rigged with a 3/16oz or 1/4oz tungsten weight is super easy to use and also extremely effective. Just cast and use a slow but steady retrieve. It will come through grass easily and bass love it. P.S. Make sure you rig it tail down. This way:

Not to hijack the thread, but how does the expride b stack up against competitors as far as sensitivity? Ie which rods are a bit more sensitive and which rods are a bit less sensitive?

Rod brands with great customer support and "warranties" (insurance)?
BPS sells condoms? 😂

Lews is taking Abu's spot.
I have a couple lews from 2013ish and they’re still going strong. I quite like them. Very light, carbon handles and a good braking system.

Zoom made hooks? Neat, I never knew that. Are they like a standard twistlock hook? Can you post a picture or 2 of them?

With something like the Dobyn’s rods, you have to pay a fee to have the rod replaced. I feel like this mitigates how much is baked into the price of the rods, but that’s just my opinion. I get what you’re saying though, especially if the replacements are free.

Is it even worth it to throw big swimbait?
I think I should have articulated this better. I agree that bass don’t grow as big in colder climates. What I meant was you can’t look at a pond and say “it’s small so there must be no big fish here” or “this lake is massive it must have huge bass in it”. I believe if bass live in a body of water, they have the potential to grow to state record size. Hopefully that makes more sense.

How do the helium’s compare to something like a Dobyn’s champion extreme?

Best hook for Horny Toad
Wow. Everything from 3/0 to 6/0 being suggested. Quite a wide range. Anyone ever tried those double hooks that look like hollow body frog hooks?

is there a thread discussing the reliable JDM sources?
Japan Tackle is great. Jun who runs it is very helpful and quick to respond to questions. His English is also very good. I also like the fact that Japan Tackle gives a warranty with their reels and will also facilitate the factory warranty for you.

I’m seriously considering the power pitch myself. Forgive me for intruding OP, but does anyone have experience with a Dobyn’s champion extreme 745 and the steez power pitch?

Best Modern Low-Stretch Copolymer / Mono (Life After Defier Armilo)
I’m a tatsu lover as well. You can buy 1,000 yard spools for $150-200 bucks on amazon. It was cheaper a few months ago. Not sure why the price went up. How often do you change line?
