#15 InvizX vs Sunline, Sniper/Assassin?
Thanks for commenting. Love your jigs! What are you using the invisx for? What lb test?

#15 InvizX vs Sunline, Sniper/Assassin?
Interesting. Now I’m really questioning using 25lb tatsu on my flippin rig. Never had a problem, but now I’m worried.

Talk me out of a Steez
So I just noticed the steez sv tw is new for 2024. Now I’m wondering if it’s better than the a2? Anyone have any opinions?

How many jig/worm rods do you fish with?
I love my dobyns champion extreme 745 for jigs. Extremely sensitive, very strong backbone but with a soft enough tip to cast 3/8oz jigs extremely accurately.

#15 InvizX vs Sunline, Sniper/Assassin?
What do you guys mean by slop? I’m mainly talking about throwing through thick lily pads, thick grass and reeds. Things of that nature. My idea of slop is something a chatter bait wouldn’t even come through. Maybe our definitions are different? I currently use 25lb tatsu on my flippin/pitchin/texas rig/jig rod. I’ll use that in the thickest cover I can find and have never had a problem. I’ll even use it to punch thick mats. You guys have me questioning my choice of tatsu on my flippin rod. I really love the “slack” line sensitivity of fluoro for bottom contact baits. Basically, I’m worried about the fluoro getting cut in the cover I’ve described. When you talk about using braid through the slop, are you talking about flouro not having the strength to pull through, or are you saying the flouro will get abrasions in the slop? Thanks in advance for your help! I’m just having trouble understanding.

#15 InvizX vs Sunline, Sniper/Assassin?
Mind if I revive this thread? I have a 600 yard spool of 15 pound invizx. I’m thinking of using it for my chatterbait/spinnerbait/swim jig setup, but I’m worried about abrasion resistance. I fish in south Florida. Ponds and canals from the bank. Lots of vegetation. Is the invisx durable enough for that? I'm also planning on using it on my senko rod. Is it good for that? Should I stick with invisx or pony up for sunline sniper?

Dobyns champion extreme HP
Sounds like a great use for that rod! Hope you enjoy it! 👍

Is it worth paying someone to disassemble and clean your reels or is it relatively simple to learn?
Dang. I wasn’t even close. 😂

Just curious, is that a lews tournament pro? Looks familiar. 😁

Congrats! I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. What do you plan on using it for?

Daiwa pinion/maingear noise
Ok, that makes sense. I’m assuming higher end daiwa reels like the zillion or the steez are built to tighter tolerances?

Scat/Poop rod
Looks like a good one. The missile baits d bomb is my favorite flipping/pitching/Texas rig bait and my favorite jig trailer as well. I’ll definitely give these a shot. Thanks!

I’ve done it myself and did not find it to be an enjoyable experience. I was always stressed the whole time and once the reels were back together I always wondered if I had done it correctly. I’ll be sending my reels to @Delaware Valley Tackle from now on. I like the peace of mind knowing it was done right.

Talk me out of a Steez
Thats good to know, thank you! I’m used to the deeper spools of lews which will hold 120 yards of 12lb mono.

Daiwa pinion/maingear noise
How come? Just curious.
-
Scat/Poop rod
Ok so seriously, what brands/models of bait are we specifically talking about?
-
Scat/Poop rod
I took a break from fishing and I come back to people fishing with poop baits. What’s next? 😂
-
Spooling line
Yep. Pencil and a cardboard box is how I’ve always done it.

Is backing actually necessary?
Can’t believe I didn’t even think of using a line counter to measure it. Here I am trying to figure out complex algorithms and mathematical equations to measure my line backing. 😂 I need to remember: keep it simple stupid!

Looks like 25lb tatsu (.016 inches, .405mm) will only fit 67 yards worth on the JDM steez a2 spool. I planned on using that for my flipping/pitching/Texas rig and jig rod. I wonder if 67 yards is enough. I used this calculator: https://www.omnicalculator.com/sports/fishing-reel-line-capacity The JDM spool holds 100 yards of .33mm line.

Spooling line
@gimruisis it possible for them to measure how much line they’re putting on? For example to tell them how much backing to put? also I assume bass pro shop does the same? I’ve always spooled my baitcasters by using a cardboard box with a pencil poked through both sides holding the spool in the middle.

Ok, that gave me a chuckle! 😂

Is backing actually necessary?
Out of curiosity, how do you measure out 67 yards worth of line?
-
Talk me out of a Steez
Sweet! Should be good to go then! Thanks!

Is backing actually necessary?
Ah, ok. Just wanted to make sure. Thanks!
