  1. The legend tourney is a nice rod and right up there with imx pro. Between the two I would probably go IMX but they are both nice. I like the handle on SC better
  2. St. Croix Legend, Imx Pro, a used GLX or Orochi XX would all be good picks. Also can't image you would be disappointed with expride either. Good luck on the hunt!
  3. Nice deal there! Anyone would have jumped on that. I'm sure you will like it.
  4. I just left the sticker on mine. Does the EVA have holes in the handle on yours? Anyways enjoy the new stick!
  5. I did own the poison 6'-7" briefly and returned it. Probably should have gave it a chance but handle seemed small to me. Also like longer length rods than 6'-7". Own an expride caster and have handled the spinners in most models but have not fished one in spinning. They are a great value for sure. I also would recommend the Daiwa BLX in spinning. Its a very nice option as well.
  6. You will certainly want the 6'11 MH for 5" worms. The 6-7 is a sweet little rod but very finesse oriented. The specs are odd on the rod but I think you'll need more power.
  7. Just purchased the 7' glass for squarebills. I have yet to have it out due to weather but after handling and fishing a lot of squarebill rods in the past I can tell its going to be a good one. For glass its no noodle but has a nice tip. Could be used for larger cranks too I'm sure.
  8. I fish a lot of jerkbaits and prefer spinning gear. Just what I'm most comfortable with. 842s from Loomis is great too but not for heavy baits. I'll be fishing the Valkyrie hard In few weeks and it's rated up to 3/4 oz.
  9. Are you open to spinning models? Looks at the MB Valkyrie 6'-11" spinner. I just purchased one it has the power to fish big jerkbaits.
  10. I like these because you can do whatever you like. No right or wrong. I typically do a 9 o'clock position about 3-6" from the top of the reel seat but whatever works for you. I'll even use these on a rod with a hook keeper if its not the type or placement I like. Just depends on what technique you are using and what's most comfortable to ya.
  11. Shimano Expride in 7' or 6'-10" glass Megabass flatside special
  12. Have used these for years. No damage and all installed on high end rods. Only ones that break are the cheap knock offs. Go w/ Fuji brand.
  13. USPS hands down. Used all three and they are the best from my experience. Make sure you fully insure since all three also break rod tubes. Would recommend PVC
  14. There is a an elite in the flea market that would be a great for you. I have a 901S as well if you want the best for this application. Also look into Daiwa BLX Light plus 6-10 St Croix Legend Elite ES70MLF By dbevins, Thursday at 09:20 AM
  15. Is that a new sienna and a couple new sedonas I see?
  16. love all these brands! Megabass- for build quality and taper Daiwa - sensitive and light Shimano - build quality and value G. Loomis - sensitivity
  17. I didn't think I would like the 3000 'T' handle but fished a 3000 last yr on a main jerkbait setup and its really nice! Saltwater models I use are all T handles as well and it gets the nod here.
  18. You want a killer little crank for ponds.....Megabass griffon 1/4 oz. More bass on this than any other. Big fish like it too. Elephants eat peanuts
  19. Have several stradics and 1 Tatula LT. Both are great reels. I prefer the stradic due to the fact its great for saltwater as well and totally agree with the plastic cheap feel of the tatula (light though!) Would recommend either.
  20. Recently Loomis, Kistler, and more adding some extra coin to all their models for 2020. Then tack on the AGS guides (Daiwa changes $100 difference in the tatula elite rods) and there is your $200.00 difference give or take. I liked the old Xtreme but I wasn't a fan of the handle shape. Still a sweet rod!
  21. spinning rod fan here Spinning..... Loomis conquest 842s Loomi GLX 842s Steez AGS 7'-6" M/ML Destroyer Addermine NRX 901S MB Valkyrie Casting.... Destroyer 110 special MB Orochi Flatside special series one
  22. no cork.... Poison would be good one Steez AGS St. Croix Legend Xtreme
  23. Alright, I have owned both and if I had to pick between the two it would be expride. I don't think its leaps and bounds better but it seemed lighter and more balanced to me. The handle on the expride is smaller and less comfortable to me but wasn't a deal breaker. Both are good choices but exprides are hard to beat for the money.
  24. You are correct. The insert seems glued. After looking at it I think I found the area. It's from the back of the guide right where it comes off the blank. Epoxy is not cracked but if u push the guide there is a little air bubble or something you can see. It's almost like the guide is ticking on the blank the threads and epoxy are thin but must be that little pocket behind the guide.
