Lost ole' faithful last saturday. Caught some big smallmouths and largemouths on her. I'll be going out next week sometime to see if I can find the log she is hooked on and bring her back. If not then its off to the internet to find a new brown beauty to replace her (but you know its gonna be tough). Here is the last picture it took of her.

A friend of mine who is 30 yrs old was just diagnosed with skin cancer. It can and will attack at any age. Cover up and live.

Maggies pregnant and maybe its a Judith kind of thing where one parent lives on to raise the child. They did pull a fast one on fans by not revealing who got killed.

Last year I got a chance to see the saturday weight-in for a BASS tourney at Cayuga Lake in upstate NY. I walked around the dock when the boats were there and most of the boats that I could see had at least one rod with a senko style bait on it. I'm one of those guys that likes to see what the pros use as far as gear and lures. I agree with some of the posts that the lure doesn't get the attention because it isn't flashy and maybe some pros don't have a sponsor that makes that lure.

Man my best friend is a real "That guy". I pretty much taught him how to fish for bass. Every time we go out fishing on his boat if I'm catching bass and he isn't instead of changing lures to what type I'm using he moves the boat away from the area. That kills me and then neither one of use is catching any fish. Part of his problem is he only fishes the way he wants to fish. He's the guy that picks what lure he wants to use before he gets on the lake. Also he only uses a few lures. Spinnerbait, crankbait and topwater frog, thats all he uses. He's never thrown a worm, or jig and doesn't know what a dropshot rig or shakey head is.

It takes time and patience to make it affective. A friend of mine won't even try it. I call him KVD cause all he does is power fish. But on days when the water temp is high I outfish him easy. It is simple once you get use to it.

You also might want to trap some minnows or crawfish from nearby lakes and put them in the pond along with removing some of the smaller bass. I don't think it could hurt.

Boxing is a great example of what the UFC is starting to look like. Many good fighters were passed over and never got a chance to show what they could do. Its a shame. I followed boxing since the late 70's and UFC since its very beginnings. I'd hate to see the UFC become the corrupt, stale, boring sport that boxing was and today is trying to fight its way back from.

A black jitterbug is a must for night fishing. Just cast it out and give it a steady retrieve back. Big bass love it.

It was in the preview of next weeks show. And I think I was wrong about Negan being there. Have to wait till next sunday to find out.

In my opinion, on the lake that I fish mostly, night fishing for bass doesn't get good till the water temps during the day get too warm for bass to actively feed during the day. When you are mostly catching bass under heavy cover (large expanses of lily pads or heavily scummed up areas) and those bass are few and far between then its time to night fish or at the least only fish around sun up or sun down.

So is Daryl the body on the street in front of Negan? Maybe, maybe not. Dwight did shoot him. Good way to keep the people watching.

Waiting for X-men Apocalypse and Suicide Squad. Heard S vs B was kind of a rip off. Director used a stupid trick (won't spoil it for anybody) that made the movie look interesting in the trailers but messed up in the movie.

I had a good bracket going till Villanova beat Kansas. Now I'm pretty much dead in the water. But it aint bad for someone who doesn't even follow college basketball.

Turkey Sandwich I agree with you. The UFC is a business first and Dana White is making sure it makes money by hyping fighters instead of making great fights. Connor McGregor is not a well-rounded fighter and we saw that in his fight with Diaz. A fighter that is as good at standup fighting as he is at jiujitsu will beat a one dimensional fighter every time. But McGregor makes the UFC money. Overseas revenue is big to Dana White. He has pretty much beat the US market (and crushed alot of competitors along the way) now he has set his sites on Europe and McGregor is gonna make him big money. Its not about making good fights anymore, just about big names and marketing.

The is one nice sized largemouth. I agree that the tv style of how to hold a bass (long arming) is getting crazy. Hard to tell a two pounder from a 10 pounder. Glad to hear you had a great day on the water.

Dang....all I lost was a spinner bait blade on a cast on the Susquehanna river. Guess I got off lucky.

Lets just say in senkos alone I could go the rest of my lifetime, and if reincarnated, another lifetime without running out. I try to hand out some of my plastics to friends and kids that fish the lake my canoe is moored at. Pass it along.

Fireworks, firecracker or 4th of July is some of the names I've heard that color called.
