I've found BR a great source of information with practical experience mixed in. If there is a technique, rod, reel, line or lure made today someone on this forum has used it and can give good advice on it. I even get to give my 2 cents on some stuff.

I agree Steveo. If they use the Dallas Cowboys idea that more is better then they could get somewhere. But I would hate to be the Browns head coach or any of their coaches if they keep losing. At some point the owner is going to expect to win.

Rumor report: Browns may trade #2 draft pick. They seem to think RG3 is their go to qb. The Browns aren't known for making good decisions on draft day so....wait and see.

Another nugget from "That friend". We were fishing one day on his boat and he decided to take his spool off his spinning reel (he only uses spinning gear). I think you can all see this coming cause I did. I told him not to do it. He didn't bring another reel. Well he did it anyway and loosened the cap that holds the spool on (on most models its the drag adjust but his drag is on the bottom of the reel). He pulled the spool off with the cap and the cap flew out of his hand, hit the rail of his boat and into the water. We had fished only about an hour when this happened so that ended the day for us. To this day I can't believe he did that.

I started using Sawyer permethrin. Just spray it on your pants and its good for 3-4 washes. Seems to work, now if I could only find something that prevents poison ivy rash I'll be ok. 100% Deet gives me a bad rash.

Sounds like we fished with the same guy. Especially the part about taking other peoples advice and not mine. He once spent 3 hours fishing with a trout spinner cause his father-in-law told him its what the fish were biting on. All he caught was sunfish and crappie.

What do you fish the Scissor Comb on?

I have never owned a boat with a depth finder. I really don't think it would help me. I fish structure, lay down logs, bridge pilings, road beds, docks, thinks that are easily seen from the boat, in my case canoe. I fish weeds and lily pads on a lake with very clear water. Clear enough that you can see down a good 15 ft. Its more about knowing where the bass will be and that takes time on the water.

What do you do with the snakeheads? I heard they are invasive species, so do you dispatch them forthright? If you do what method do you use? Baseball bat to the back of the head, slit its throat, shotgun?

Manziel will play again only because the NFL is always looking for unproven QBs. Teams are willing to pay big money for a QB that may or may not pan out. I'm always amazed at the money wasted on unproven talent. I understand injuries, that is just the game but to pay millions to someone who has no track record and continually proves to be unproductive makes me wish I could throw a spiral.

I agree with you Atcoha. Not really sure why they went thru all the trouble. It was done in Mexico I believe and I wonder what they might find if they keep going. But it seems like a ton of problems for a bit of reward.

Me too but I bought them when the were cheap. About 4 yrs ago BPS was selling them for $2 each. Bought a ton and still got alot in the original package.

The only time I ate bass was when a friend and myself went out on his boat (his rules) and he kept everything we caught that was legal. He beer-battered that smallmouth bass and brought it to me to try. I was glad he did cause even with the heavy beer-batter you could still taste the very oily taste of the bass. After that I stuck with crappie and trout. They just taste better.
