  1. Did they flood Leaser Lake again? The last time I fished there they drew it down and stocked it with trout to make it a put&take lake. Before that they flooded it and stocked it with bass, sunfish and other warm water species. Also heard they are drawing down Pecks pond to fix the dam. Sad, it was an awesome place for crappie and bass.
  2. That bass failed at the weight-watchers meetings. I would drop dead if I hooked a bass like that.
  3. Awesome catch. Way to go.
  4. Agreed. Even with the warmer than normal winter I still am getting antzy to get out and fish.
  5. Gerald Swindle for sure. But if you catch 1 more fish then him he's gonna flip out.
  6. Add more bait fish and cull some of the small (legal size) bass is the best and easiest way to go. Also make sure the bass have places to ambush their prey. Weeds and tree lay-downs are a necessity in small ponds.
  7. I've got a tackle pack full of jerkbaits of all sizes and makes but I almost always go to a Rapala Husky Jerk or a Smithwick Rogue. I just have more success with those baits but maybe its just that I use them the most.
  8. I got a similar problem with the pickerel (same family) in my fav. lake. They are abundant and hit anything that moves. Fishing slow on the bottom is the only way I don't hook them. Pickerel, like pike, are not good eating fish so nobody harvests them. I take them legally and use them as fertilizer for my garden. That's about all they are good for.
  9. The Fort Hunter Boat launch is a good place to launch. Its open to the public and free to launch as long as your kayak is PA registered. Hope this helps. If you need more advice just ask.
  10. My goal this year is to try to keep my lures somewhat organized so I don't have to go thru next year what I gotta do this year. I also want to learn to catch fish on a shakey head. I've tryed in the past but always gave up too soon. This year I wanna stick with it.
  11. Berkley 6in lizard texas rigged caught a nice 5lb bass and for smallies there was this....red craw crankbait on the good old susky river.
  12. Just last week I bought a couple Lake Fork Boot Tail Live Magic Shads in watermelon red/pearl. Can't wait to give it a try.
  13. I started fishing Blue Marsh in the 80's before they decided to lower the water levels every fall. It was tough to fish then. I've heard of tourneys where only a few fish were turned in. I remember there were places where bait would congregate during spring but you had to hunt for them. To me that lake was always a nightmare for bass fishing.
  14. If you wanna make Keitech swimbaits less durable rig them the way I do. A single octopus hook (hooked like a dropshot, thru the nose) with a small worm weight unpegged infront of it. I get maybe 5 or 6 casts out of it before it breaks and flies off the hook. But its a great way to good bites and gives the swimbait lots of action.
  15. I'm big on watermelon w/red flake. I get big bites on that color. I think the flakes really flash in clearer water.
  16. Love the cross-tails for dropshotting, bought the flick shakes early this year & haven't used them so maybe I'll try them next year.
  17. Awesome haul. Ain't no school like old-school.
  18. Sorry to hear about your situation Clayton. Its one many are facing these days. I hope you find a better place to work with a better employer. Its not easy in the times we have now to make a jump like that. Good luck and stay positive.

  20. Hope this goes thru. First try at posting video from youtube https://youtu.be/xT9pygVQwgk
  21. Like a lot of the other posters here I prefer a 1911 in 45acp. Mine is a Citidel with a 3in barrel. IMHO stopping power is more important than the amount of bullets your magazine holds. But in the end it comes down to training and being prepared for any situation. The best defensive weapon is knowledge.
  22. Love the old school Mister Twisters
  23. Many of us anglers fall prey to the latest and greatest lures/techniques/gear out there and cast (no pun intended) aside the time-proven techniques and lures. I know I have more swimbaits in my tacklebox than worms and I have had more success catching bass over the years on worms than any other lures I've used.
  24. I like the arkie twin tailed skirted grubs that are 4 inches. Work great in cooler water.
  25. lake fork craw tube w/ wide gap jig head works great for me.
