  1. I would use a Texas rig instead. The jig will throw up to much muck IMO.
  2. Great bait, but no a lot of action. I really only use it when the fish won't take a rage craw or bug.
  3. Rage craw tends to hang up on weeds a little bit more than the bug for me. And yes I would go 4/0, I rarley use 3/0 for craw style baits.
  4. What size hook are you using for the rage bug? I've never had any problem with them on a 4/0 EWG.
  5. Nothing is like a 10 inch power worm... Nothing
  6. He is customizing his reels to his liking. Just like tons of the people on here take half of their brand new reel and replace it with higher end parts. That's like yelling at someone for putting a new exhaust pipe on a muscle car. Shimano fanboys love to put another 200 dollars into an already 400 dollar reel and go on and on about how all other brands are in-superior. If you put an old lews with revamped parts against a new lews with original parts they are going to be quite equal. So has anyone come to a real conclusion about why people are arguing about this? There was junk then and there is junk now there is great products now and there was great products 20 years ago. People pay 10 times retail on some old baits or 2 times the price on old rods and reels. Why ? Because it's their money and they are free to do whatever the heck they want with it. I don't agree that all rods and reels today are junk. Just like not all rods and reels then were junk. So quit making stupid comments about your personal preference that wasn't even part of the OP's statement. Quit being fanboys of one brand or time period or whatever you want to be a fan of, or at least quit arguing over all of it.
  7. Well this is awkward....
  8. Ditto I caught a turtle that fought harder than any bass ever will. 14 pounds of snapping turtle made for intresting hook removal.
  9. Go with what you are most confident in. In this case it sounds like the smaller lake is the way to go. Fish in your comfort zone and dissect the places that you are familiar with. Personally I would go to the shallow lake aswell. It's much easier to figure out a pattern on a smaller less pressured lake too. Good luck!
  10. Ah I gotcha gotta keep the good spots a secret.
  11. Charger boats is still alive.
  12. Deal on dips slide swimmer 175. http://huntfishpaddle.com/swimbaits/153-deps-slide-swimmer-175.html
  13. I bring a duffel bag which can hold 5-6 3700 boxes. I usually bring 5 rods, a soft bait binder is a great investment aswell.
  14. Why did you color out the top in the first one? Lol
  15. 1/2 almost always. Except for swim jigs or finesse.
  16. Can I come with you ?
  17. I think pineapples actually grow as 1 up from a ground plant thing.
  18. What is the point of asking what the point of this thread is ?
  19. There are quite a bit of people on this site that either promote or demote baits or a line of rods without ever even using them. I have one person in mind who asks a question about a bait of rod then the next day raves about how great this bait or rod is. Kinda annoying.
  20. Go to the reply at the top right and then go to add file.
  21. Agreed look at linker chasers, never fished a tournament has over 10 pro staff positions one being phenix rods.
  22. Pics of the 3.5 pound bluegill ?
  23. That sucks. What was there problem? I have heard with those events that it really depends on the angler your with, the better they are the more succes you will have.
