  1. I am a sunline sniper user and recently gave invizx a try. I have been impressed so far. Red label was strong but manageability was bad, tatsu was manageable but seamed a little too “soft” for my liking, but invizx seems just about right. I will certainly try it on a few more rods this year.
  2. I would argue that under normal conditions that flouro does indeed stretch less than mono. testing line at it breaking strength is a poor way to judge real world fishing situations.
  3. Some people claim to be able to feel every bump of pea gravel and never miss a bite on big game and an ugly stick. I’m not that good so I use fluorocarbon for bottom contact lures because it helps me detect strikes and bottom composition much better than any mono that I have tried. Flouro is a little harder to manage but the sensitivity of it outweighs the manageability. Give a mid level flouro like sniper or invizx a try. You might like it.
  4. Tackle warehouse gets hacked and TW are sob’s. A storage unit get hacked and the thieves are to blame. it sucks either way but I can’t help but notice the irony.
  5. Round bend works best for me.
  6. What bait is that?
  7. Are you using the mh moderate crank bait rod or the standard mh mod fast?
  8. I would never consider any Lew’s reel without a supported pinion gear. After owning several Lew’s reels I would also be wary of the new P2 supported ones based on my experience with the older reels. Even with yearly maintenance nearly all of my Lew’s reels got rough feeling after 1-2 seasons.
  9. I literally cannot tie the palomar knot without it failing. I’m sure that I am getting twist or crossing the line but I can’t figure it out. I’m left handed but somewhat ambidextrous. I guess I get something crossed up. I use the uni knot almost exclusively and have very good success. That said I believe the San Diego jam is a slightly better knot. Wetting the line is imperative.
  10. I feel pitching and skipping are techniques that use the exact same rod. As I’m working my way around cover I need the same rod to be able to cast , pitch and skip my lure into the target zone. I like a 7’ rod in heavy power.
  11. A falcon heavy is more like some rod brands mh for instance I’d say Falcons run a 1/2 rating lighter than the rating. If a falcon says it’s good for say 1/2-1oz, that rating is true.
  12. I prefer the falcon rods weight, balance and sensitivity over alx. Falcon rods run very true to their weight(3/8, 1/2oz, etc)rating. The actual power ratings(mh,hvy, etc) can be misleading compared to some other brands though.
  13. Falcon Lowrider 7’mh. Very versatile rod that would handle those techniques well.
  14. This thread reminds me of the modern media. Hyped up headlines based on hearsay.
  15. What papajoe222 said is exactly what I do plus I use offset round bend worm hooks. I rarely miss or loose a fish on the Carolina rig.
  16. Falcon’s 7’ mh mod fast rods are amazing. The $100-150 options are honestly perfect for your needs. I’ve tried several rods costing way more and for that application the inexpensive Falcons prevail every time.
  17. I’ve had good luck with the old strike king diamond shad. It glides and spirals out of control on the fall, very erratic. Bass seem to like it. Kinda like a tube jig falling.
  18. Randy Santa? I use a baitcaster and megabass levante jerkbait rod. I tried several other rods and this one is perfect for me. I am left handed but use casting or spinning rods in my left hand/ reels in my right. I’m not sure what is normal but that’s what works for me. I don’t actually even keep I spinning rod in the boat.
  19. I think some people take fishing, social media, forums, YouTube, pro fisherman and fishing personalities way to serious. Just remember, every penny that goes into these peoples hands comes from your pockets. One way or another we pay their salaries. Grow the sport my a**.
  20. Although the terminology used is above my educational level, I think I agree with this post. ?
  21. If you see me carolina rigging you will see me catching fish too. #1 producer for me through all seasons.
  22. I didn’t find either of those lines very good. I tried tatsu a few years ago and thought it was stretchy and broke off too easily. I gave Daiwa a try this years and felt it was not durable and had bad memory. Both were pulled off my reels after 3-4 trips and replaced with my normal sunline sniper. I also tried seaguar invizx this fall and have been pleased so far.
  23. We all have our own opinions so take this with a grain of salt. In my opinion, as hateful as fluorocarbon can be it is undoubtedly better suited than nylon mono to transfer what is happening to my lure to my hands. For my money Sunline Sniper is not only cost effective but works better than even Tatsu for my use.
